Drunken Christmas Philosophy Thread

The monster destroying new york is very likely a metaphor for the nameless and faceless dread haunting the american psyche in the wake of 9/11

I said watching cloverfield after six beers:o

time's really weird coz we have no perception of it beginning, yet we sense it as moving instantaneously and unstoppably from this unknowable, existentially non-existent beginning, and there's nothing we can do about it.

If... if you just think about it for a moment... it's obvious... I mean, just stop and think about it and you'll see too. I mean it's obvious

It is like this energy right? yeh? and it is like, everywhere, but also nowhere. And the energy is not energy at all. It is like the opposite of energy, yeh? All the numbers on the pages of the bible added up and then divided by three prove this. And that proves, right, that there is a new age coming where everything will be different and totally way cool and we wont have to fight for it because god will just give it to us because we totally believed in positive vibes and listened to the grateful dead quite a lot.

Kyser have a happy new year 2009. Use the word "cunts" sparingly and only to those who deserve it. Unfortunately, 2009 is going to see a lot of "cunts", try and cut through all the hard times of 09.

Keep safe.

I only ever use cunt when the context of the thread demands it. I wasn't literally calling all Buddhists cunts - something you'd have been able to work out were you not a Buddhist.

You're being disingenuous now, kyser.

I was only saying, yeah, right. Which, if you think about it, is, like, yeah.

Can I quote this again?

I do yes. I think about it a lot as I am getting older.

When I was looking into the sky the other day, i realised (IMO) that we cannot 'see' everything on earth. The spirit world, including Guardian Angels, are all around us, and, controversial as it sounds, i think even the earth is a living, breathing thing with a soul, just like you and me.

Occasionally, when you are out walking, take the opportunity to have a look at the flowers and plants in the ground. Sometimes, you can be shown the energy of this earth of ours. It’s quite hard to describe, but it’s as if there is very powerful force coming up and out of the soil; an explosion of energy bursting through all aspects of nature, causing plants, flowers, even blades of grass to expand their own energy and explode simultaneously. That to me is God.

Yeah.
