nah, it's dead from the receivers end but there is still a transmittion there ready to be picked up, switched on, whatever you call it. If it was dead as a dodo then it would not matter if you mess with magnets in the vicinity. Since it is a nice expensive tele that is just not switched on you leave the magnety playing out because you don't want to spend 2 mopnths wages on a new receiver
