I agree with Nigella Lawson on one thing -- life's too short to fry chips. PacificOcean -- have you tried Ollies in Herne Hill?
Nooooooh. No-one in this country makes chips as well as me. They're easy with a friteuse -- whaddya call them, frying machine -- and some time. Like when the footy's on. Cook them through at 150 degrees, then crisp them up for 60m seconds and 190. Simple.Ms T said:![]()

OK. They are the best, apart from mine. Olley's , I think. You have to eat them there or nearby to get the benefit of hot, fresh, crispy chips though.Ms T said:PacificOcean -- have you tried Ollies in Herne Hill?

I'm not so sure about that one...
(editor wonders if the legality of the drug played any part in his street attack)
Although wildly off-topic for which mea culpa mea culpa, you have to go a long way to beat vegetarian pie and mash and a strong cup of tea at the shop in Greenwich.Ms T said:![]()

I think the legislation was drawn up in such an ambiguous way that it's proved very useful in ways no-one imagined...I've certainly seen very creative use of it in terms of clearing crack-houses and the like when everyone thought it would be used to evict families with an out-of-control teenager. In fact my experience regarding pain-in-the-arse teenagers causing grief on Lambeth estates is that people are reluctant to complain as they know the reason is largely no youth facilities whatsoever and that they are reluctant to see an entire family penalised for the behaviour of one of its members.......Gramsci said:Says that Padro Keys was closed down under an ASBO order-this is news to me?How does that work?
Great. Coldharbour Lane really needs more criminal investmentMrs Magpie said:I've heard rumours that he's bought property here....
