hehehehe!!!!!

We've definitely got a few issues to sort out with the venue first!

The problem with Samba Central and LBO was down to the fact that the in-house PA should have been delivered and installed by wednesday at the latest so that we could start doing everything we needed to from thursday morning. As it was, the inept individual who is responsible for this did not manage to have it sorted until 1pm friday afternoon. Obviously this had severe knock-on implications for us. I was furious with this situation and some of my crew had to intervene to stop me from taking this bloke apart (and I'm a pacifist so you can imagine just how angry I had become.). Despite my constant prtestations over a 3-day period he still did not manage to get the rig to arrive until 1pm on friday. Flabbergasted doesn't come close to my feelings on it all. Anyway, I won't dwell on it because it really does make my blood boil that after spending so much money on having those two acts involved, so much planning and negotiating, it all amounted to nothing because of the total lack of foresight, understanding and ability of a prick like that. GRRRRrrrr!

The smoking room - was all A-OK until thursday night when the fire officer decided to say that he didn't like it and wouldn't allow it to be used. It's not like he didn't have plenty of time to mention this in the weeks leading up to the opening! At that point the venue management should have planned to have an outdoor area organised but they failed to do this. The going out of the front door process was absolutely ridiculous and something I knew nothing about until they started doing it. Never again!!

But, all in all, I have to say that this was by far the most amazing thing I have been involved in. To go up to the back at the top of the seats and dance to Utah Saints in the place I used to spend all my time in when I was a regular Raver at the Que was surreal, exquisitely pleasurable and something that I never in my wildest dreams thought would occur.

Thanks to everyone involved in making it happen and thanks to all of you who came. I'm sure a hell of a lot of you (including me) didn't actually believe this was happening until we got the doors open.....and even then I had to pinch myself!!!!!!

Aqua - your picture where you said you think it was Utah Saints, it was actually PCM...that was when the aliens and predator came on stage!

If you'd like to have a look at hundreds more photos check this link scroll down to the various galleries. There's some real beauties (pics not girls) amongst them.

It was just an awesome night, without a doubt my second fave experience (the first being the time it snowed inside the fridge in brixton whilst "the weather outside is frightful etc" :D

I'll change the tag of the photo, tbf I hadn't a clue I'd taken them till Sunday :o I have little videos too but can't get them off my phone :o :D

the water was a problem, as the water went off in the loos at one point too and like callie says it being taken off people is just fucking stupid

but man, can we do it again this week please? :D

g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan g'wan

Can't really add much to what's already been said, but overall it was a superb night. Easily the best drop beats i've been to - loads of space to sit and move around, brilliant music and lights and the aliens were fab

The sound problems were disappointing, i was really looking forward to the LBO and my mates band in the chapel bar - they sounded fucking awful, but in the context of everything else being excellent I can't really grumble ;)

I had no problem with the security - very very visible, but I saw no aggression or arseyness, the exception possibly being that bloke stood outside at the end with no clothes, but i dunno the story behind that really. the dog was clearly intended to shit people up, it worked, on me anyway :D

Dunno what the thing with the water was about, i assumed it was just the venue wanting max bar profits/litter issues.

Can we have another one, please? :)

just remembered, I had this BRILLIANT idea for moving mice on the organ and a giant animatronic Bagpuss to rise up from behind the stage, yawning mightily at the awestruck munter punters as they rave their sorry little arses off to a drum n bass remix of 70s/80s kids tv themes.

You can have this idea for free, all I ask in return is guest list for me and everyone I know at the next one.

HTH HAND

:)

oi! why didn't you come and say hello!

mmm, i'm a bit of a shy one aqua. My excuse is that I only noticed this thread on the friday. I was looking out for you... based on the ugly mug thread pic I probably saw about 2 years ago :D

beatsnotbombs... thanks for organising such a great night! There may have been a couple of minor problems but it was the best night i've had out in time
