I was planning on trawling round second hand furniture shops next week anyway. Anything like that on ebay gets called shabby chic and sells for ridiculous sums.

I've got one of those hand things.

Good for rings, but I find my jewellery is either too long, or too heavy - putting anything too heavy on it makes it a bit unstable.

And I wouldn't want to break it.

I have something that looks a bit like a tree - but my computer is playing up at the minute and won't load another page for me to do a search for it

Here we are :)

On the wall I have a cork board (painted) with lots of those big sticky out plastic drawing pins in, on which I hang earrings, necklaces etc. That way I can see at a glance everything I've got. (Some of the earrings you have to spear.)

I use similar to Spangles. I bought a plastic screw box from Woolworths for earrings. I was having a sort out the other day and decided to buy those little plastic bags to put individual pairs in too then into the box to keep them together and stop any damage from happening to them (I have loads of earrings).

For a few years I also used one of those ply-wood things you get from places like hobbey-craft..the ones with lots of little different shaped rectangle and squares that can be used for display or to store but stopped using this the other week . I also have a few mug trees bought for about £1 in Asda that I use for bangles n bracelets then I have a selection of jewellery boxes that I have bought on my travels. I bought a beautiful one in India last year that I store my rings in.

I noticed that Lidl have some deals going on storage things.

I bought several CD drawers set from WHSmith a while ago and have labelled them, eye shadows, other eye stuff, cheeks and lips, bits and kits... It works remarkably well.

Taken a while ago mind.

They have this:

on the WHSmith website at the moment which is quite nice if you're going for maximum girlie effect.

For jewellery I've been putting my earrings into ice cube trays in a drawer. I put a few pairs in each cube but again it makes life a lot easier. I did try threading straws over my necklaces to stop them tangling but it was more trouble to do that than detangle them!

See through drawers from Muji for bits of shit, and a proper make up suitcase type thing for my make up.

Neither are cheap I'm afraid.

This sort of thing before anyone gets it in their head that I've got a massive wheel along thing full of blusher

I have a massive wheel along thing. :o
It's empty tho, but that's because it's new. I have make up strewn all over the flat and a whole drawer of crap.

I use similar to Spangles...

I used a toolbox years ago but it became the equivalent of the misc crap kitchen drawer when I moved here (as we only have one and that contains cutlery) but yeah, lidl are doing storage stuff I think.
