cream is NOT okay. please trust me on this may, my two sisters wore cream, and it surprised everyone. it happens.

oh please, cheesypoof, not every bride will be bothered if a female guest turns up in cream. i for one wouldn't even think about it if someone turns up at my wedding in a cream dress. bar them carrying a bunch of daffs and sporting a veil, there's no way they'd upstage me :D but of course, check with the bride if you wanna go with cream may :)

on the other hand, i think its not acceptable to wear black to a wedding (just plain bad manners)

are you gonna be showing by then? ;)

Goodness, there are some very pretty dresses on this thread!

I'm not about to give you fashion advice May (God forbid!) but if you want to wear cream and the bride doesn't object then why not? Perhaps you could choose a darker shade to be certain. :) I will say though that I'd be inclined to go for a plain dress with those shoes and dress it up with accessories.

 Really?? Is this a personal taste thing Rollem??
black in an outfit is ok, just not a black dress/outfit, if you see what i mean? it's supposed to show that you are against the marriage/think it is doomed (in the world of old wives ;) )

Never heard that one at all!! I can see it though :D

Up here they just wouldn't go to the wedding ime.

Those shoes need a black, white, or strong coloured dress. Seriously bad idea to try and mix tones of brown with shoes like that.

Black? Don't think so.

Anyway, thanks for all the great suggestions people :) including the sterling advice from Urban Mumz :D I like the idea of fuschia with the shoes, now that it's been suggested...

Yes, fuschia would look good on you and with the shoes. Having suggested it though, I'm having a bloody hard time finding a dress in that colour

Top Shop I reckon, and they do maternity kit n all, don't they? If fuschia is the colour of the season the Topshop and H&M should deliver....they are superfast at trends

Quite! The last wedding I went to I wore a white suit (and camoflage stilletoes ) and really there was never any danger of me upstaging the bride!

I got married last August and I wouldn't have minded a bit if anyone had worn cream. Mind you I was in shiny green.

btw- those shoes -

I like the suggestions of red/fuschia...I went ooohhh good call ! However as much as I want to I don't like the shoes...:(. Maybe they look better in the flesh.

I am bidding on a fab pair of purple IC shoes on ebay atm.
