that dress is the one i'm wearing in the pic of me at hdif that i posted on the ugly mug thread. it's great. and forgiving in the tummy region.
however, i don't think you should wear black with those shoes.

cream is NOT okay. please trust me on this may, my two sisters wore cream, and it surprised everyone. it happens.
but of course, check with the bride if you wanna go with cream may

on the other hand, i think its not acceptable to wear black to a wedding (just plain bad manners)
Really?? Is this a personal taste thing Rollem??
Perhaps you could choose a darker shade to be certain.
I will say though that I'd be inclined to go for a plain dress with those shoes and dress it up with accessories.
black in an outfit is ok, just not a black dress/outfit, if you see what i mean? it's supposed to show that you are against the marriage/think it is doomed (in the world of old wivesReally?? Is this a personal taste thing Rollem??

Those shoes need a black, white, or strong coloured dress. Seriously bad idea to try and mix tones of brown with shoes like that.
including the sterling advice from Urban Mumz
I like the idea of fuschia with the shoes, now that it's been suggested...Black? Don't think so.
Anyway, thanks for all the great suggestions peopleincluding the sterling advice from Urban Mumz

Top Shop I reckon, and they do maternity kit n all, don't they? If fuschia is the colour of the season the Topshop and H&M should deliver....they are superfast at trends
oh please, cheesypoof, not every bride will be bothered if a female guest turns up in cream. i for one wouldn't even think about it if someone turns up at my wedding in a cream dress. bar them carrying a bunch of daffs and sporting a veil, there's no way they'd upstage me![]()
) and really there was never any danger of me upstaging the bride! But you were a bridesmaid in black, which is pretty unconventional. It's up to May to ask, not for you to TELL her.![]()

. Maybe they look better in the flesh.
