I know all you U75 commie hippies like Dreadzone. I'm not sure I would pay to see them but as a teen I inexplicably loved Big Audio Dynamite (I know I know) as it's 10 minutes walk from my house and bound to be a nice day in the park.

Croydon festival can be a bit dodgy though, loads of police on the gates and snatch squads dragging people out the crowd for smoking spliffs, for a day in the park it's a bit much

Really?? I have been four times and never seen anything even slightly like that. It's always been a pretty family friendly affair. Mind you last year there was those metal detector entry gates and I saw a gang of horribles run across the park. Nothing I wouldn't take my family to though.

I saw them at a free festival in Southwark two or three years ago. They said it was their first gig in south London. Maybe this will be their second.
