Wherever I Lay My Hat is a Marvin Gaye song.
Not sure about Common People as several reggae artists recorded it, but the version I'm familiar with is by Nicky Thomas

Yeah, I've heard it now I come to think of it. I think I might have heard the reggae version of Love of the common people as well.

I think a lot depends on what version you hear first, you know. There are execeptions though. I was never a big Tears for Fears fan, but Gary Jules hit the spot for me- perfect antidote to 'Merry Xmas Everyone' etc on the radio :D
