drainpipe jeans

none of you understand. only my music understands, i work on my music in my bedroom and it understands me. i wear my jeans and work on my music in my bedroom.

What's wrong with 501's?

Been wearing 28" waist, 34" leg ones since I was 18 (not the same pair obviously).

501s aren't drainpipes. they are a classic straight leg jean. drainpipes are like what i had when i was 10 or 11. my mum bought for me and said "don't ruin them" so i put them on, went out to play with my mates, climbed up a tree, jumped out of the tree, got the pocket of my brand new drainpipes caught on a branch, had the pocket ripped off totally. my mum made me pay her back out of my pocket money. my pocket money was £1 a week. i think the jeans cost £13 or something.

everything i know about parenting i learnt from my mum.

and my dad.

funnily enough.

I think you should wear them with moccasins. With little tassles on them.

I used to wear mine with moccasins, but no tassles

I miss being able to buy moccasins as shoes :(

I think you would look nice in drainpipes - you have the lanky legs for them :)

I, on the other hand, look like the human inverted triangle :(

You can have my slippers if you want. Take 'em to a cobbler, get a durable sole fitted and no one will be any the wiser

Moccasins are "face", as the youngsters say.

Re that pic of the Ramones, interesting how the thirty year fashion echo is in full effect.

Also tight jeans are good for getting girls. I only recently realised they are just as pervy as us blokes.

i want some drainpipe jeans, really thin, like the Ramones. i have really long legs tho. where do you get them now? are you meant to have a bath in them or soemthing to make them shrink to fit you?
My sister used to like her jeans tight, so she'd buy them, and within half an hour of getting back from the shop, she'd gone down the leg seams with a seam ripper and was stitching them back up an inch narrower. She used to end up about 2" taller once she'd got them on :D:D:D

When I was at school, we used to have to get our mates to help us take them off when it was gym class. :o :D

I bought some drainpipes by accident from Hennes recently. £15.99. I'm old enough to remember them last time round, but I'm relishing wearing them again ...unlike tiered skirts

Drainpipes can look well cool depending on the right combi of wearer and beholder's eye. Fuck it. Do you really care?

Wear what you want and don't give a damn what anyone else has to say. Or care enough to wear the same old, same old style uniform as everyone else..

I've been wearing drainpipes since last time around. I'm not a fashion follower, I'm a trend setter, you see. ;) :p

Must get out there NOW and buy enough pairs to last me for the next 15 years till next time!

My daughter was doing this the other night.
Had fun reminding her of when she used to rip the piss out of me for wearing drainpipes when she was younger.
Thankfully, her music taste has improved as well, I did start to worry about her when she went through a Destiny's Child phase when she was a weenie. :D

Wow Rutabowa told me about this thread on Sunday but I didn't realise what a panning drainpipes got.

I think baggies are shite, and because of my short stature drainpipes are the only jean that make me look normal. Trouble is I can only get the right sort from Japan.

Flares are much better
in my opinion no they are not.
i am about to go to Topshop on Oxford Street now, apparently some drainpipes were spotted there. Henney's at 14.99 sounds pretty good tho, maybe i should try there 1st.

Flares suck and so do baggies. Don't forget that Rutabowa and I have to do a lot of standing with our legs astride pointing our guitars in the air, not many other forms of trouser can pull this look off correctly.

yes, i have some old "raver pants" that i am embarassed of now, i looked like a fool.
ps i have already bottled out of the horrible topshop for now, i will try h&m tho

Aww - I bet you two look really sweet with your matching trews :)

All you need is access to a sewing machine then you can just keep on taking the legs in on the inside seams until they are skinny enough for ya! That's what we used to do back in the day....

Best to get strech jeans as well then you can get them super tight :D
