SG

I was quite impressed and amused by the clinky clanky sound effects as they were walking across the grass :D

Was good though.

BIIIIIIIIG SPOILER

Hmmm - not really so good tonight I thought, Maureen Lipman hardly cut it for me as a hard-core villain and just compare this post-war Churchillian '50s offering to the magnificent war-time two-parter in the last series... someone said to me a lot of these episodes are earth-bound; I think one of the gags was good but, mmm, hope next week's is better. Even seeing Rose in fshnets didn't raise the tone much. At least we have some aliens next week :-)

Well, you couldn't see much more than her ankles. Did women wear fishnets in those days, though? I thought then they'd have been assocaited with prostitution.
The Doctor looked great with the Clint haircut.

Overall, one of the weakest episodes.

I thought it was one of the best written epsiodes so far.
At least there was no fecking kissing.
More like a classic Dr Who style one.

Very good episode , the best bit was where the Dr and the dad were arguing , Tennant really had that menacing shouty thing going on which contrasts so well with his normal Dr . That eccleston twat never managed that !

I thought it was pretty good but the only genuine cracker this series remains The Girl In The Fireplace. Still not warming to Tennant either, which is odd as I thought he was great in The Christmas Invasion but seems to have got progressively more irritating...

Checked the link

In The Girl in the Fireplace, an episode of Doctor Who first shown on May 6, 2006, Pompadour is played by Sophia Myles. In the episode, she has a romantic link with the Doctor, but due to the nature of the episode, as well as the Doctor himself, she is unable to follow the Doctor in his adventures.

Was that you? It shcoks me every week who quick this sort of thing gets onto wiki.
There's always a race whenever anything important (or even not that important) happens to see who can get it on to wiki first :)

It suggests the Daleks and Cybermen are collaborating for the series finale

Eccleston would've knocked the f**ker out. How dare you insult my 2nd favourite Doctor!

Pistols or swords?

I couldn't see the dalek on this monitor :( It was too dark.

Oh please, yes Tennant did break out of jokey mode for a while, but Ecclestone would have just looked at the guy to get him to shut up

Bollocks Eccleston was shit at mental . Did you not notice the eyes , proper crazy look that was !

Last night's episode "The Idiot's Lantern", two things I spotted, wrong type of aerial on roof, in among the H & X VHF type of the period I am sure I saw modern UHF yagis of today. In the street party scene at end, lots of people about but absolutely no one smoking, history will never be the same again.

Not one of the best - good idea but poorly realised.

The whole business with the overbearing dad etc was surplass to reuqirements - we should have had a bit more plot and action instead.

I just don't think he has anytthing like the same presence, such as at the end of the 'Bad Wolf' episode when Ecclestone was stating what he would do to the mass of daleks, you almost felt their fear  ; Tennant is by no means the worse Doctor and does the quirky humourous moments well, but has not the same gravitas IMO.

strangly I am finding myself liking this doctor less and less. which is weird as hes actually quite good

maybe its the anger thing, to me this seems a bit out of character with the Character hes representing. Other doctors have gotten angry but hes just so in your face with it all...

though if my entire race had been wiped out in a time war I am guesing I would be a bit pissed off too.

IMO last nights episode had loads of potential but blew it in the execution
