are scouser wigs standard issue in the british army these days then

I have no idea what they were doing or if they were wearing wigs .I would have pressumed if they wanted a disguise wrapping a shemagh round their face would do .
setting off ieds was not what they were doing though whats the benefit
in it .

Scottish soldier in mufti on the streets of Basra.

they didnt shoot that copper dead and drive off because they were supposed to be there, with a boot full of weapons, detonators, medical and battle kit.
nor were they busted out of the police station for nothing, and the story changed countless times by the bbc and mod.

Weapons, detonators (although on their own dets aren't a lot of help and the amount of explosives shown at the time was pretty minimal) medical kit and battle kit (whatever that's supposed to be) is believe it or not fairly standard equipment for special forces operating in such circumstances. What would have been acceptable for you? That they go in with a big sign saying "Special forces at work, we apologise for any inconvenience"?

As has been stated elements of the Iraqi police force aren't exactly unsympathetic to certain organisations that they are supposed to be working against I'd say the action was (at that time, ie no Mahdi army ceasefire) justified.

exactly, so where was the rest of it

what about all the contradicting statements maded by the bbc and mod

is it just me or is shooting dead an iraqi copper a bit out of order when ur supposed to be on the same side

Rest of what? You keep blathering about detonators but there was no photos of them. Which is odd since there were lovely photos of what was supposed to be all of their kit spread out on the floor...

Supposed is the correct term.

What makes you so sure there was a "rest of it"?

What vehicle were they driving?

How much else could you have fitted in it with the amount of kit that they had on capture?

Come on you seem to know so much about it answer the above.

Shock horror the BBC/any media grabs half a story makes a bit up and ends up having to change said story as more details emerge, nothing new or suspiscious there.

As for the MOD they are not well known for being generous with information and this has totally understandable operational reasons, again nothing unusual.

As far as the policeman being shot as I wasn't present at the time I cant say exactly what led to the shooting but at the time it would be understandable under certain circumstances.

depends when I was out there regular army patrol shot a couple of coppers
dont even know if it made the media back home .Turned out the police were up to no good so noone wanted to make a fuss .The iraq police service could not be trusted to any degree.
