Direct train services to Dover Priory run on several routes from Victoria via Bromley South, London Bridge, or the HS1 from St Pancras via Stratford.

Having been well clear at the top of the table when they won convincingly at Champion Hill in December, they've now lost 6 of the last 8 at home, including another defeat against Chatham last night.

Out of note, and perhaps this is a wider conversation for another thread, but their prices match the most expensive I've seen at this level of the pyramid (Bishop's Stortford was the same price for adults a few weeks back).

Haven't seen any others match that this far.

Anyhow. G'wan the Hamlet.

£15 but bless their heart it's a pound off for concessions

And concessions start at 60, not 65! (I believe Bognor offer no senior concessions, but at least adult price is only £12.)

To be fair, they were in the National Division as recently as 2022 and have actually dropped their prices by £1 since then, and performances have been so consistently poor on the field their attendances have dropped too. They understandably downed tools during the pandemic season, when the National League forced clubs to trade while insolvent, and seem to have got stuck in a doom loop ever since.

Note they've distributed 1,000 free tickets for our game to local children and parents, plus it's an international weekend, so expect a large crowd of possibly 2,000.

Today's team. JBW back in what looks a straight swap for Wynter on the left of the back three. Millsy and The Wizard up front. Scott returns on the bench.

Very disappointing. A really flat Hamlet performance after conceding from a long throw after 12 minutes. Only one real save for their keeper to make, early in the second half from Scott. The closest we came to an equaliser was a header against the post from Chambers deep into stoppage time. Thankfully everyone below us lost, so we remain 9 points clear of danger with 6 matches left.

3200 apparently - blimey

They declared 3,021 but 2,021 would have been more accurate. We frequently see what 3,000 looks like in a non-league ground and it wasn't even close. They must have counted all the free tickets given away regardless of whether or not they turned up. Still a decent turnout of course, and fair play to the club for making an effort. Hopefully most of them will come back. I was also given a bonus senior discount even though I clearly asked for "one adult please".

Hope the players don’t think the job’s already done - every game that goes by without the nine point gap closing brings more comfort, but we’re not there yet.

That's precisely my worry. It felt like an end of season game. There seemed to be a complete lack of purpose and leadership on the field. Dover looked a shadow of the side that hammered us 3 months ago, yet a few weeks ago I think we'd have got something out of this one.

The classic "fun day, except for the football" trip away.
I'm not sure the day was even that much fun this time! It was my first visit to Dover since the opening day of the 2005-06 season, and it's a great non-league ground, but it was one of those days when I wonder why I bother.

Ah, it was my first time! I think we struck it lucky with the pubs…

It looks like they've done enough to escape relegation but the form table doesn't look too promising for the remaining games:
