Dostoevsky's 'The Idiot'

I couldn't get into war and peace it just didn't seem to catch my attention enough to want to read all of it so I stopped after about 150 pages !

A lot of books have started like that for me. What I would say is, don't be afraid to skim, a little bit. Because there will likely be a point where you skim, and then you find yourself slowly getting into it, and then before you know it, you are in the story, and enjoying it!

War & Peace is a great book. It has everything. War. And Peace.

But what I think struck me most about it, even more than the characters, and the story, is the discussion Tolstoy has near the end about the nature of history.

I was doing my A Levels, the first time I read it, and one of my A Levels was in History - it helped me more than anything else ever could have.
