Doomsday: A Bit like 28 Days Later, Mad Max, Escape fromNew York and Children of Men

Perhaps not but it amuses me that adults complain or mention that a film with monsters in isn't scary. I should hope not!.

Well, you're just such a man aren't you ?

It depends on how well the film is made as to whether it is scary or not and whether you are willing to suspend your disbelief. I still find Alien scary as fuck and I've seen it about twenty times.

Why do you attribute not being scared to be something overtly masculine? I just don't get scared, not at monsters or the atmosphere. I know it is a film. I don't get scared by books, graphic novels, cartoons or music so why would I get scared by moving images on a screen?

Well that's you then. Don't accuse other of being immature because they are willing to suspend their disbelief because they enjoy getting scared by silly things. I think you are displaying a certain lack of imagination rather than being very grown up.

:D

Jesus christ, you cold start a fight in an empty room. I wasn't accusing you of been immature, I simply don't get scared, nothing to do with lack of imagination, being grown up or whatever else you may think.

Not getting scared by anything does indicate a certain lack of imagination if you think about it for more than a nanosecond, firky

I am in an empty room. There is only you to pick on. :D

Oh I get scared, I get scared that when I am in the car someone is going to crash into my and I die a fiery death. I get scared that one day I am going to have to arrange a funeral for my mum, I get scared that one day there will be a ban on booze. However I will not be scared of something someone else thought up on and put onto film.

But I do feel like I care or hate some people in a film... hhmm. Interesting.

You are weird! :hmm:

I'm off to the pub to start a brawl....

fuck me that was a really bad film! - the budget/quality ratio is so low its almost surreal

A Bit like 28 Days Later, Mad Max, Escape from New York and Children of Men

you forgot gladiator & robin hood!

Looking forward to Doomsday :)

Don't get your hopes up.

Like many apocalyptic films it's quite promising to start with. Some lovely grimy CGI and evocative lighting.

But when the "punk-ass kids with mohicans and leathers" straight out of god-knows-how-many trashy B-movies start running around, you know things are going downhill rapidly.

And then the plot gets really silly.....

For all that, though - it is quite entertaining and exciting.

it's shit and a complete rip-off from mad max/escape from new york/aliens

i saw 3 of neil marshall's films on saturday and wasn't impressed at all. some good effects and occasional good cinematography but generally very cliched storylines

Two more hours consigned to the bin.

What a mess of a film.

I couldn't help chuckling at the battered old Police car catching a new Bentley Continental GT with its 6ltr 500bhp+ engine which can do 0-60 in fuck all and has a top speed of 200 mph.
