is it such a crime to like this song?

i also like "the summer of '69" by bryan adams.

so sue me

:o

I also like those songs even though I think both of those "artists" suck. It's fairly common for shitty musicians to crank out a couple of good tunes. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then.

You've obviously been brainwashed by Virgin radio who see absolutely NO reason not to play both songs every single day from may to september, although even people such as yourself who claim to like them can probably do without a daily dose. In fact if you listen to virgin you'd be amazed to discover either of them ever made another record (if only it were true, I could, maybe, forgive them....)

Nah, still like the Ataris one best.

Their pop-punk sensibilities give it an edge that Henley's MOR classic doesn't have, imo.

But So Long, Astoria is not as good as Blue Skies...

I have the Ataris version on a homemade cd that I like to play in the car; not to say that it encourages antisocial driving or anything....

As an aside, this season's music comp will feature a drum and bass-ish remix from yours truly, of Pat Benetar's "Love Is A Battlefield", which as we all know, along with the Don Henley and the Bryan Adams tunes, features that beloved puffball swing snare hit on the two.

I'm thinking Ally Sheedy with a crazy perm and too much eye shadow...

It's nang like Poontang, and you love it.

Pat Benatar's too edgy for Ally Sheedy.

Not that I've ever noticed  - and I mean, you can't help but notice that he likes 'Africa'..... :(

well i admit ....

i can see the attraction...

I hear the drums echoing tonight
But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation
She’s coming in 12:30 flight
The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation
I stopped an old man along the way
Hoping to find some long forgotten words or ancient melodies
He turned to me as if to say, hurry boy, it’s waiting there for you

opens soulseek...bet no fucker has it  :( :p....
