Dollhouse pilot on free-to-air telly tonight

Shit.

I do like the fact he was clearly expecting it though, so the humour's still there.

Sod's Law says the next few eps will be awesome, I hope they manage to pull a decent ending together.

I won't miss it very much, to be honest. I thought it was a really interesting idea and there were some cracking episodes and some intriguing characters but it never really caught fire for me. I think part of the problem was Eliza Dushku, who may be shit-hot gorgeous but isn't a good enough actress to pull off multiple roles. I'll still be there for whatever Whedon decides to do next though...

Gutted. I really liked this show - guess it'll turn into another Whedon marmite series like Firefly (which I'm not a fan of).

Apparently S2 was written with cancellation in mind by E13, so it's been written with that in mind...

Agreed about Dushku. Maybe it would have lasted longer with a stronger actress.

Hopefully they'll be able to actually give the series and ending now that they know what's coming. TBH, if it weren't for the future episode at the end of season 1 I wouldn't have liked the show enough to defend it.

And yeah, I'll be there for whatever Whedon does next too - even at his weakest he's still better than most TV writers/directors out there.

The fact the show's first five episodes were so mediocre may have put quite a few people off watching it or at least giving it a second try. Those early reviews were pretty damning too.

I thought Fran Kranz (who played Topher) and Olivia Williams (who played Adelle) were far and away the best things about the show. Tahmoh Penikett is so wooden you could hollow him out and use him as a canoe.
