Ulysses 31 was the fucking donbot of kids' cartoon programming. I think I got a bit too into it, to be honest. As ever, I can barely remember a thing about it now except for the episode with Sisyphus pushing his big volcanic rock up a hill.

I think it's one of those things that are best as a memory.

I bought that Dungeons & Dragons DVD boxset and was mortified how shit it was, despite my memories of it being one of the best things ever. :(

Same for jayce and the wheeled warrior and the above. Best left as a fond memory. Though visionaries (for those that remember) was\is still brilliant.

Battle of the Planets is the only thing I've seen that has survived the nostalgia test. It's just as fucking weird now...

Knightmare was fucking brilliant
Hard as fucking nails too. How many winners were there? I swear some series, there were no winners at all. And the face coming apart in bits to show health freaked me out. When it got down to the skull and eyeballs I had to hide behind a cushion.

Now what have kids got. Raven? it's a well shit wannabe knightmare.

I even had the choose your own adventure Knightmare books. They was tough

Best theme tunes in order
Ulysses 31
Cities of Gold
Battle of the Planets
Godzilla
Dogtanian (joke option)

I always really loved Dogtanian.

I can still sing the whole themetune, word for word. Sign of a good (or, at least, memorable) theme tune, eh?

My wee brother used to watch it and I used to tell him what shite it was (he was 7 or 8 and I was 17 or 18) - mind you, I'd join him to watch Ulysses 31 or Battle of the Planets which are both in a different class altogether.

well yes it isn't highbrow and probably has dumas spinning in his grave but it's an excelent childhood memory

Dumas wouldn't have minded. He was all about the money. Paid by the page, and a lot of it ghostwritten in a factory. He'd have welcomed the royalties.

t'was shit. as was MCOG.

infact they were all dire - except Hong Kong Fuey, Duckula, Trapdoor and Dangermous.

I woof it. This was the staple of my youth.

Can't believe the title of this thread. Never thought of a flounce til I found out there were some people on her that would have a problem with Dogtanian. :(

Is nothing sacred?
