Does your pet have a hobby?

My kitten-cat's current favourites are storing leaves behind the tv and climbing up the chimney (from the fireplace not roof) then doing sentry duty at my bedroom door until he can get in and leave yet more sooty paw prints on me/my duvet  :D

The other pets are too lazy to have hobbies.

Our cat Normo does.

He collects elastic bands. If we don't put them around the house for him he'll go out and find them for himself. He brings them in between his teeth, bats them about a bit, and then puts them neatly in his biscuit bowl. The biscuits remain uneaten if there's no laccy band on top.

If you flick them over his head (the bands, not the biscuits), he'll fetch and then sit waiting for you to flick another.

And he likes to sit on the window in his spare time. Not the windowsill - the window. He climbs up the glass and perches on the pane when the top half of the window is open. :D

He's very strange

My Mum's cat does this. He collects all the red elastic bands that the posties drop and leaves them outside the backdoor. Tis a most strange habit, but useful if you ever need an elastic band.

My cat lover plastic bags. She will sit in them purring loudly. You can pick up the bag and she's still happy to sit in it.

Yep, bags are one of Fred's other pastimes - the big paper Ikea ones being his favourite . Along with sitting in cardboard boxes whenever they are around.

i'v got a puppy that likes hunting, it started with lizards when it was small but now its up to snakes, big ones, it brings them home too.:(

My cat Dylan is obsessed with flowers. Every time I buy some he's straight on the table, trying to chew the leaves, and sniffing the flowers. His favourite hobby is pulling the decorative bits of grass out of the vase and leaving them all over the floor.

Harvey's hobby is hunting (and he's very good at it), and Hendrix doesn't have a hobby - he just likes sleeping.

Bailey my cat chews the post , like a dog , rips big chunks from it.

I've taken a post office calling card back before and they said your dog must be really hungry.

I forgot, my cat also likes to knock things off the side.

His fave things to knock off are pens. He likes to see them roll. Then it is anything that is in his way where he wants to lay. We got a new bookcase, and there were a couple of cards on the top. Charlie jumped up and very slowly and methodlically knocked each one off with his paw before laying down with a grin on his face.

Shortly after we first brought him home we got home to see he had knocked a wine glass off the side and proceeded to hide bits of glass in the other room. Weirdo.

And of course, like all cats, he likes to sit on any piece of paper you are reading/writing on.

My Dad's dog seems to take a huge delight in rolling in badger shit.

Our cat has a raft of nasty little hobbys including, but not limited to:
  • Killing rats and leaving them in strategic locations in the house during the night.
  • Licking his willy.
  • Parking himself immediately on the lap of anyone who comes round and is allergic to cats, as opposed to the normal refusal to acknowledge presence.
  • Being allergic to things (the vets say they the cat allergy test lab said they have never seen such an allergic cat - the only negative result was stinging nettles).

My cat Lyra's hobby is catching moths, bringing them in through the catflap, patting them around the front room, then devouring them noisily on the rug in front of me.

If anyone else posted this reply, I'd probably be sickened, but Normo sounds like a complete sweetie! *hands in man licence*

 You can't take them away! How would you feel if someone ripped out a page of your train numbers just because they needed to write something down?? Eh? :p

We do have some strange pets :)

One of my cats, Dave, thinks he is an alarm clock. Every morning without fail, at about 6.45 he wriggles under the duvet and chews my toes to get me up to get his breakfast. Another hobby of his is wrecking my laundry. I've not got a clothes line outside just one of those triangular racks indoors. Dave uses this as a climbing frame. He also likes to drag my underwear from the lower rungs and leave them on the patio

Tommy likes cardboard boxes...those six bottle wine boxes are excellent for sitting in and watching the world go by. He's a good fly catcher and also excels at bringing in large parts of my plnts from the garden. When he was very young he quite liked watching football on TV but he doesn't do that so much now.

Skoda mainly sleeps these days, although in her younger years she was an excellent moth catcher. Occasionally I get them prawns as a treat. She's very good at raiding everyone else's bowls, sucking the contents and leaving soggy partially chewed carcases for any one who was saving theirs for later.

Oh, Dave likes to help with the ironing as well. He's very good at hanging off shirt sleeves when they dangling off the board.

Dylan does that as well. Usually at around 7am when he wants us to get up and give him his breakfast. He especially likes pens and hairbands.

I forgot...
Lyra liked to sneak into my housemate's room and root around in her laundry basket, and leave items of her dirty clothing in inopportune places. She once appeared downstairs with one of my housemate's dirty thongs wrapped round her neck.
She also liked to steal my housemate's earplugs and eat them. Another hobby of hers is dunking her tail in the ashtray and then flicking ash around thr front room.

Pig's main hobby is eating. that includes dogfood, the gusset out of pants, the contents of the cats litter tray, the stairs etc etc etc

Issy is a keen houseplant gardener very good at pulling only the dead leaves off of the plants in the lounge.

She also likes to try and bite my needles whilst I'm knitting with them.

And yes, is another excellent moth exterminator. Glad she's back on to those and given up bringing live mice into the house

2 cats

Ras likes to chew on plastic bags - sits under the kitchen sink crunching away on them.

Pan likes to lick herself down there, a LOT - most offputting when you're trying to read in bed and all you can hear is what sounds like a lesbian slutfest coming from the foot of the bed

thats you and doggy too :p

Indeed, and some time I'm going to cook him one of my patent curries with lots of veggies and pulses and then we'll come round to your house and blow the windows out.

Be afraid. Be very afraid...

My lab's hobbie is kissing people. On the hand or arm or anywhere else isn't good enough. It has to be a full on, on the lips job. He also loves playing with empty plastic pop bottles and searches the park for them.

The collie's hobby is winding me up and ripping the cardboard centers of toilet rolls to shreds.

James the cat has a favourite piece of string that he hides away, and fetches out when he is in the particular mood for it. He is very good, he puts it away when he has finished playing with it so he can find it again the next time.

We save the loo roll centers in work for one of the girl's parrot, Charlie...he rips them to shreds too!

I've had my face slurped by a friend of a friends great dane  was sitting on a chair at her place and the next thing i know is my face was in this gentle giant's mouth...a doggy facial
