Does The Central Line Smell Different From Other Tube Lines?

According to the Central London Rail Study of 1905 - the early operators of the Central London railway used evergreen bushes on the platform to de-ozone (!) the air. Not sure how long that lasted or if the shrubs were nicked !

I recall somewhere that the Bakerloo is the hottest - along with mosquitos !

IMHO - the Waterloo&City has the most pungent smell -indefinable musty and disinfectant like

I find the Metropolitan and East London lines smell the worst. Victoria line is usually okay, but H&I station often smells rank.

If you change from northern line to victoria line at euston using the "secret" set of stairs at the far end of the platform it smells gross as you go up the steps. Im guessing its a sewer near by.

I'd say the victoria line has got to be the hottest  ime anyway. Central line always quite cool in comparison.

I'd have to agree. It's because there are no outdoors bits to get fresh air in.

The Bakerloo is pretty hot as well, possibly because so many trains turn back at Queen's Park and so don't get out much either.

Those two are easily the hottest. The Northern can be pretty stuffy and damp, but it's not as outright hot as the other two. The Piccadilly and Central are comparatively a joy. Aside from that dodgy lighting that someone suggested "emits dimness". :)
