Isn't it funny! When I had no kids I felt the same way as you but since having them, having a nice home and my own things seems more important.

I also have a fear of debt and the thought of having an expensive rented tele in the house where the risk of a football going through it is great scares me somewhat.

Well, I do have reasonably nice home and I also have a fear of debt - hence me renting not HPing. If a football goes through the telly, it's insured and they deal with it.
