all these people citing broadband - if i want to watch something in a hurry, it's just easier to tape it than spend hours waiting for the torrent to download
I can download an entire movie in 15 minutes flat.
Torrent? That is for kids who haven't worked out how to use the internet yet.
I get 840kb a sec constantly, no break down, no waiting for seeders, no connecting to some shmuck who has a 2kb upload rate That is almost 1mb per second, that means a 750mb file takes about 900 secs.
So about 15 minutes in total.
A TV program I can download in 5 or 6 minutes.
e2a: At some point this month my line will be upgraded from 8mb to 16mb, so you can basically halve those times too, an entire movie in 7mins and a TV prog in about 3 minutes. 1.6mb per sec download rate thats going to be pretty sick.
