Does anyone know if the Boris bike scheme makes a profit or a loss?

Mobike is one, started in Manchester, now operates in Newcastle, Oxford and London.

Mobike is even shitter than Boris bikes. I looked at one a couple of days ago and can't believe anyone over about five foot nine could ride one comfortably. They're tiny.

The phone app makes PAYG use via a credit card relatively painless and slick, avoiding all interaction with the terminals.

I've never tried one as I'm a bike snob with my own, but I gather they're incredibly slow. Lots of them got destroyed here on launch but it seems to have settled down a bit now.

Ok, I don't really know much about the columnist. I just remember someone putting the link up on a Facebook group at some stage.
