Hoppy was noisy, chirruping most of the day light hours with the occasional budgie squwark. He used quieten down when you put a tea towel over his cage in the evening though.

i used to be in charge of the birds section if the bird person was away, when i worked at pets at home
(aged sixteen. the hamster section was normally my sole responsibility )

budgies are ace. get one.
finches are good too.

Cool! I need to wait until I can afford the cage and stuff though. But I definately want one.

Since you worked in a petshop you might know this: can you get two budgies and keep them in the same cage...so they don't get lonely?

budgies in the wild live in big flocks - maybe it'd be interesting to read up about budgies? did you know sometimes men smuggle them in their pants?!

Budgies are quite cool. My dad used to breed them when we were younger - to keep in our aviary, not to sell.

We had an indoor one once and the cat ate it.
