So it wasn't about struggling shops and bands then? Just about me?
shops are struggling... bands aren't really doing any worse than before, at least more people can hear them.

It sounds good but i worry about community spirit in this country where people sit in front of computers all day (yes i know, forum poster etc) instead of having a good rake through your local independent shop (if there still is one), having craic with people etc

Perhaps if you were actually into any good bands, eh?

I find it pretty ironic that i titled the thread "does anyone care about music anymore?" and just about all the people who answered are the very same types i was criticising! People whose only purpose in life is acting smug on forums, whose entire world is the internet. They probably even use it to have pizzas delivered or something.

if by craic you're using the gaelic spelling of what is phonetically pronounced as 'crack' it must be a pretty laizzes-faire record shop you frequent if you can go there to have crack with people.
but anyway, sorry i needed '3 chase up emails!' for the records I bought - as i said in the first one I had to wait for a new cheque book as you couldn't accept paypal. Which is kind of analogous for this thread, I buy records every week and have done for the last 30 years, but don't think i have ever been into a record shop for months! It is simply much cheaper to buy on line! Similarily, I haven't had to write anyone a check for ages as everyone who sells stuff online takes paypal.
I expect it's sort of the same with buying vinyl from traders/shops these days. And i'm someone who loves nothing better than spending a day in some 2nd hand vinyl treasure trove wherever i am in the world, even if i only leave with a couple of records for my efforts.

you're taking the piss now. yo're the one taking money of bands by selling their records second hand.

why? because I don't have a landline as I use my neighbours wireless (with permission) it's called convenience pal and most stuff online is cheaper too, that's called market forces. Times change, get over it.lol. go fuck yourself, dickcheese. have you read any of the responses?I find it pretty ironic that i titled the thread "does anyone care about music anymore?" and just about all the people who answered are the very same types i was criticising! Well if you don't want to sell second hand records give them to me.
Yes, I made a similar complaint over CB radio once but the only fuckers who responded were those weirdos who spend their time chatting on CB radio.

er what?
To be honest mate, the prices you are selling your stuff for are well cheap. Sure if you were just to spend a couple of days banging it all up on ebay you'd make ten times more than you ever would just selling them off a list![]()
Give your records to me, i can handle the shame of making money out of them
We could argue about music all day. Millions of people are into Girls Aloud for example. Explain that one to me. What i consider 'good' you would hate. It was PUNK i mentioned therefore punks i attracted, or woulda expected to...

You telling me you can't get a shag off the internet?Ah CB. The 80's forerunner to forums, only you could get a shag on the CB and it was full of pisstaking twats rather than smug twats!

point out the bit where i'm being smug please?take the ACTING SMUG ON FORUMS line and put it on your wall as a mantra

If downloading had been around in the days of punk nobody would have bought any records then either- the predictions of music dying back then turned out to be a little premature.

I'm still laughing at the post saying i'm ripping off bands by selling second hand records, as if i broke into the bands house and STOLE them in the first place!
i just didn't fancy owt off your list. as urban isn't a marketplace, you should be damn grateful anybody bought anything imo.![]()
ditto. If you'd had anything I wanted I would have bought it. You didn't so I didn't.
e2a: I have spent about 30 quid in the last fortnight on buying singles. Just so you know.
