I had the black ones and some hideous checked ones as a teen. I loved the black boots teamed with the usual long flowery skirt and big socks

Now I have a couple of pairs of Mary Janes. Really comfy, but shit in wet or icy weather. Slipping all over the bloody place.

Got some skater shoes at the moment, and I'm very much not a skater type. Just big and black and comfy. I'm not really one who gives a shit about what goes with what. If the fashion facists want to get pissy, let them - life's too short to stress about which group of people thinks which item of clothing is cool and which group doesn't. Fuck the lot of them - I likes what I likes and that, my friends, is the word.

Very horny.

Give me a man in those any day. :)

They were great in the seventies, but then we had fewer choices back then. Now they're an anachronism. Styles change and so do comfort levels which is why many people opt for trainers. I plump for Red Wings now, great support, aesthetically pleasing and very hard-wearing.

big win, i need to buy some new ones, tend to waer 6 hole black ones in soft leather as they are easier to wear in

What utter bollocks.

It's not bollocks though. They're ugly, uncomfortable, freezing in winter, and aren't remotely waterproof. Compare that to any number of boot manufacturers who've done a bit of r'n'd, and yes, they're an ancahronism.

100% fail. unless you happen to be 15 years old, wear black lipstick and think its cool to write poems about your 'tortured soul'

I think I hate them because my mam always wore cherry red ones so to me docs = old peoples shoes :D

fixed.

These are mine, got them in brown & black. I'm hoping they won't take much wearing in. It's years since I wore a pair!
