Maybe. He was on a mission though .... he's got a bit of a trackrecord of going against the what he sees as the prevailing flow to get a reaction.

I suppose he succeeded :o

Good for him.

Do you think? I've never thought of OU in that way. I know he can be a bit of a pisstake but then so can I, and I spot it in him exactly the same way I can be. Harmless

Sorry to talk about you as if you're not here OU :D

I've had more differences with him, but I suppose I'll have to let this one drop. I thought he was just being plain rude last Friday though and said so -- bluntness can cut both ways.

I'm off now though.

I voted no originally on the premise that there's enough forums but seeing it in action I've changed my mind as the festival chitter-chatter clogs up the music forum and I never want to hear about Eavisbury ever ever again.
So, yes - keep it.

You know what Orang? Even ;) in West Yorkshire, where I've just spent the weekend, most folks know the difference between plain honest blunt outspokenness, and gratuitous sneering/out and out bigotted rudeness.
oi - you leave us west yorkshire folks out of this... you're right though we know the difference between being bluntly honest and rude, rude folk mostly live in london, bluntly honest folk are mostly from yorkshire:p;)

That's a fair point actually - plenty of main music forum people would rather not have festie chat cluttering the main music stuff. I know I said earlier that I thought festie threads were in danger sometimes of dropping down too quickly on the main music forum, before this change, but on refelction I think twisted's point is a fair one ...

This new arrangement should suit festival lovers and anti festivallers alike yes? :)

Exactly -- most Yorkshire's know how to make a 'direct' point without being so bloody rude as one of their number ....

My earlier post (what you quote) was not anti Yorkshire really, but I'm happy to clarify for you. You slow bloody Northerner :p ;)

I voted 'not bothered either way' but now it's here I quite like it. In a quarantine for the greater good fashion :) <<<-------- William, that was a joke.

I get confused with all the festie info and dates, and thinking more carefully about it, it's good to be able to see them all in one place.

Some sort of specific festie calendar would be good to show dates/overlaps etc but I daresay someone's already thought of/suggested/done that.

Yeah having seen the festival sub-forum in action I think it makes the music forum better. Also, iirc, some festival chat was in community as well last year (eg meet-ups and that kind of thing) so it should declog a couple of forums and the keep festographers happy;)

actually I'm going to go completely against what I said earlier - def keep it!

I never used to go into music cos its not something I particularly give a monkeys about (when bees lives with you, you have all the music you could ever want :D), so I didn't notice many of the festie threads, but now I can find them easily :D

not sure if i already said or not, but i approve of the festie forum - quite possibly the best idea firky's had in erm well ever probably

It's a handy place to keep Walworth isn't it?
saves him sleeping in a ditch drinking ale brewed in a puddle.
until the actual festivals start like ;)

I like it too but it does make me think there arent enough independant festival websites.
I have just set up a small website with the intention of getting the popular music festivals listed in one place with all the details of lineups news, tickets and location information.
