One thing I thought was well odd when I went to China was quite how many people i saw wearing england shirts.

I never even managed to find the bloody things in Chinese shops, so god knows where they got them either, but it really was tons of people, whereas you'd never get them wearing the Chinese shirt...

Nicked em from work innit.

Last world cup I missed 2.5 games. I was quite proud of that.

I am not a great fan of soccer and don't watch it too much (supporting Mighty Mariners there isn't much worth watching at the moment) But I always support England in major events even though I live in Portugal.

Support Palace, follow England.

I like England to win and would enjoy winning the world cup but its not something that I get that het up about.

ignoring the media, the unlike-able players and some elements of the fans... Yes I support England

Not sure why anyone would follow another countries national team without any family link?

Well I generally wish Northern Ireland well and would have liked to see them through to the finals but I couldn't say I support them.

Also the poll is shit, where is the option for my national team is anyone playing the English?

Is this the thread that tries to make us feel ashamed for being English ?

Club over country for me mostly, although I've had some of the best nights of my life at the old Wembley Stadium shouting on England. Grown a bit apathetic to all this corporate Premier League/International big-money football.

I'll mostly support whoever I've got money on at the bookies tbh :D

I'm English and I want to support England but they don't interest me in the slightest and twunts like Ashley Cole, Rooney, Terry, Gerrard and Ferdinand actually make me hate the team somewhat.

I'm an Arsenal fan so I prefer to "support" any team with Arsenal players in it instead.

You're an arsenal team?:hmm:

There was a time i would get quite passionate about Wales, but constant failure has made me quite numb to defeat. I always manage to get in a few away trips every competition, but to be honest that is more to do with travelling to exotic parts of europe than some sort of dedication to the team. If we win i am pleased, if we lose, i shrug my shoulders and carry on drinking.

With cardiff city, who have had as much, if not more, tastes of failure, it is different. Every time i go to a game i am gagging for a win, i am extatic when we do and gutted when we loose.

So for me it is definitley club before country, by a long way, but i still have longings to see Wales do well and will travel half way around the world to hopefully witness it. I will also temporarily support anyone who is playing against England, especially Aregntina and Germany :p

I don't know, the scars from all those near-miss World Cup qualifications are still pretty raw. I was at the game when Jock Stein died, and I felt worse than he did.

Yeah. An England world cup win would probably benefit clubs in the League more than one win in the League for them would.

And it would mean a rise in admission prices and subscription charges. It would certainly be good news for those with lots of money. But more fans would be priced out of football.
