Does he now. Well you'll show me where he says that.

I know and have worked with plenty engineers and producers who would agree with me. Im not saying its gospel im just saying its not always about the mics. Im not knocking Steve Albini either, the guy is a frucking legend.

Dub is right. He works by putting mics all over the room rather than using multitracks. All the stuff he has produced has been done in that way.

Multiple cue/loop points, far greater pitch range, you can completely fuck around with the structure of a song once you get the hang of it, thus playing with a crowd on a dancefloor - making buildups go on and on, teasing them with hints of a break etc.

Example - get a 4 bar loop going, plus another cue point. Increase tempo of the track in the loop so it gets faster and faster until its almost a "machine gun", then just hit the cue point and the tune drops back in, back at original tempo, dancefloor goes nuts :)

fair enough but thats like the only thing a 1000 does that is so 'special'. I personally wouldn't ever use it.

1210s all the way

Any twat who calls himself "rapeman" can't really be taken seriously though...

i make music and i don't expect to support my family off it. music is something you do for love, if you get rich off it is cool, but the idea that i should support struggling artists by buying cds is utter fucking shite
why?

What do you mean, "no multitracks"?

IE he records everything live, gets the band playing together and gets the mics right so he doesn't have to add tracks and compensate for fuckups.
