Says she with the posh Mercedes bus!!!

At least I slept in a tent!

Did I mention the helicopter that took me to the backstage area, and the free Bolivian cocaine that the pilot insisted I kept with me...

:D

:p

My bus is rusty :(

I do a bit. But then I think about Dour festival in a few weeks with its insanely good lineup, (almost) guaranteed good weather and much cheaper tickets and it doesn't hurt quite so much.

I miss the hippy bollocks though, the green fields, drinking tea watching folky stuff and all that sort of thing, and just the produciton values of Glastonbury (and other small UK festivals in general). European festivals are rubbish at that stuff.

I dont give a shit about being called most things sterotypically but millwall? Fuck that! Bastard!

dave(saw more west ham shirts at glastonbury then any other!)

Bristol c*ty and Plymouth are consistently the most numerous shirts there ime.

Loads of Hull there this year as well for some reason :D

The backstage bogs are slightly cleaner but not all that much. They just have fewer people using them

Well.... they were a LOT cleaner when I was there, especially in the muddy years.

I see the whole area as an extended chill-out, for when it all gets a bit too much. Can't argue with free food either, good food too, more than just a fuckin' veggieburger, know what I mean?

Plus no queues for the bars in there either, handy...

Quite a list of people who didn't want to be there in spite of it being a real vintage one. I guess then none of them will be back again? :(

although there's a couple of names in there I'd love to see at Glastonbury next year, I'm not that bothered if it stays as popular as it is now (ie only just selling out). I thought this year was a classic because it had fewer twats and more first timers etc.

Emphasise, not directed at anybody specifically, just a general thought!

The festival moves on, and not everyone wants to stay on board. But as you intimate, first timers are a good thing.

I had a couple of very 'city' black guys, in all their finery, down at Pyramid Info one morning. It only took one look at their dress to figure they'd never been before. They had various challenges ahead of them - a hike back to a gate their wristbands (they were on full Hospitality tickets), and then a further hike to find tent pegs. They'd not a chance to get settled, but they were still grinning. Each time I had to send them off on another long walk, they did a brief roll eyes then went off smiling. When they finally returned, I gave them a jokey ticking off (this was Saturday), saying: "So, you coming next year?" (Yes definitely they said!), "So next time, turn up early!!" I said. They laughed and said yes definitely. They'd not seen a single act, but seemed pleased to bits that they were simply there.

People like that are the lifeblood. The festival would die in 10 years without them.

This was the younger crowd Michael Eavis was on about. He got it and it was successful. Good :)

I'd have liked to have been there on Friday night to see MGMT, but if I had I'd probably have got stuck in the next field and missed them or could only get to see them from the back, so I guess I had a better experience of them on the telly. As for the rest of what I saw, not much impressed me. So all things considered I'm not that bothered. I've got tix for MGMT in November anyway.

For the purpose of geek 'Completeness', I should say that I could make BOTH Tuscany and Somerset.

I picked the one with the fun people though :)

Didn't miss it as I've never been. I'm going to T in the Park with the best bunch of people a girl could ask for next weekend, so I'm happy :)
