I had no vote no opinion...

I hate the way some guy from Russia can waltz in and buy a load of titles, but I do like watching it, sometimes...

Chelski do play some nice football - plus I quite like the way the English players a prominent in the team.

I'd hate them if Norwich were in the prem tho' :D

Just like Man U in thier prime Chelski are using their vast resources and sucking up all the decent players in the UK.

Like Defoe, Gerrard, Van Nistelrooy, Henry, Rooney, Crouch...

My option would be;
Hated them before they were rich ( same division, etc)

Like them more now as they seem to wind everyone up so much! All clubs spend to buy success if they could.

As a spurs fan,I've never really liked chelsea, but i hate them even more now. Probably brought on by the fact that I know THE most smug, arrogant bastard chelsea fan ever known to man kind. Who also apparently used to be in C18 and has more than once gloated about being there when some poor southampton fan got beat to death

see more evidence in Relahni's 1st reason to hate Chelsea.

By the way, a quality night on Tuesday - Chelsea <spits> fans had No Surrender etc st george flags dangling over the shed end. Scousers pulled one down and ripped it up! Some C18 Chelsea <spits> fan was going ballistic. Ha ha ha.. :D

No

I think you'll find most teams have at some point.

Or can't you remember?

Or did you support Man United before 2 years ago?

:D

I don’t like the creation; it’s a corporation cast in the image of an owner suffering from the consequences of an unfortunate childhood – it’s looking increasingly like Frankenstein FC.

The values are not sporting, but capitalist; the idea isn’t to beat the opposition on, at least, a relatively even playing field, but to undermine, outmanoeuvre, make irrelevant. And if this manager or these players can’t do the job, then lets get a fresh lot in for ½ billion.

These are the values Frankenstein’s monster seeks to pass on to the kids – they have nothing to do with fairness, competition and sport, and everything to do with a man desperate to (over) compensate. Winning isn’t about competing as best as your means allows, winning at any price is a cost in feeding a fucked up personality.

In the old days short men with complexes like this were sent to Elba, and not in the Champions League.

Absolutley - that's why Essien didn't apologise for that tackle on tuesday or why Gudjonsen gloated at Alonso after getting him booked last year - they've got no idea at all.

I think I also dislike then for Kenyon and his ethos of making clubs a brand. The whole ethos of the club is screwed.

I think Relahni hit the nail on the head a while back...sure you can buy fancy stadiums and expensive players but you can't buy the passion, history and fanaticsim of a loyal fan base.

You can't buy love either, judging by the poll result so far.

Top post London Calling.

I`ve always hated Chelsea.....perhaps in more ways than even Arsenal (i`m Spurs).

First memory of Chelsea..sometime in the 80's at WHL. Asked my old man why the away end was hissing and pointing throughout the whole game. Dad says they are Nazi salutes and the noise is supposed to be the gas chambers...

Since then they`ve never failed to live up to their reputation as 'Send em back/Hang em and flog em/No surrender', bigotted, home counties CUNTS

I go to Spurs and have to accept that we have our fair share of wingnuts and loudmouth pricks as every team does but Chelsea's support is on another level in terms of its high ratio of knuckle-scraping, neanderthal morons

Glad i`ve got that of my chest

I like Mourinho, Ferreira and Carvalho were two of the best defenders we ever had, and there's an handful of players I'm quite fond of (particullary Cech and Lampard).

Chelsea can screw themselves up after all of the 2004 European Champions leave, for all I care.

I used to reserve all my hatred for Man.Utd, but seeing as they are rapidly going down the toilet these days I have some bile to spare for Mourinho's cheats and bad losers. I'd even prefer to see Arsenal win the Premiership, but I think Liverpool will just pip them.

I'm a Fulham fan so have always hated them by default.

Although I don't begrudge even Chelsea any success what really pisses me off is this huge plastic following they have picked up since they became succesful.

I can remember seeing Chelsea get hammered at home by Wimbledon in a top flight game and less than 10,000 were there. Where were all of you glory hunting wankers then when your club needed you?

it's a stitch up. not much room in the poll for just liking (rather than loving) them is there?

i like Chelsea, always have done. a lot of my mates are old school Chelsea fans (2nd gen Irish hobbledehoys). i come from west London so i have a natural liking of CFC and QPR and a natural hatred of Spurs and Arse.

The old school Chelsea fans are really good bunch of lads (apart frojm the racist ones) - especially compared to 1. spurs fuckwits 2. the new wave of public school bandwagoners.

and i think if you are say, a Hull fan, what is the difference in fatcat terms between Chelsea and say, Liverpool?

i think they're ruining football but maybe football was going this way anyway. it's freakish and london calling expresses it well - that the sport has been contorted out of shape. it's more serious than bickering rivalries such as mattkid's 'tottenham have never beaten chelsea in the premiership'.

anyway he's come across as a twat in this but good on him for defending his club. most of my chelski friends, who have actually been fans and have attended games for years, can't defend it and say that stamford bridge is a joke and while they are gripped by the football, they can't stand anything else around it.

chelsea vs. arsenal. my mate, who's seen a decline in atmosphere over a decade and a half, sees pires dive so he jumps up and shouts 'fuck off pires you cheat!!'
and someone in front of him turns around and says to him in a patronising tone, 'you should be ashamed of your language, in front of all these people.'
to which my staggered mate replies,' jesus, why don't you fuck off to the polo?'

and then to rub it in an american sat nearby says at half-time, 'don't stop shouting man, it's awesome.. i love your passion. that's what soccer's all about.' my mate said he nearly twatted the guy in frustration.

anyway he said that in response to my question, 'how's the atmosphere since the russian?' he seems quite down about the whole thing but then again he's pleased about the football, but he knows not to go on about it, he's got the intelligence to realise the freakishness of it all.

i used to quite like chelsea because arsenal playing at stamford bridge was three points in the bag. now i feel they've abused my good nature and i'm not happy.

Epico - You have so much ammo to throw at us, it's a shame to see your attempt at taking the piss go wrong. Everyone knows Tottenham haven't beaten us in the Premiership.

Many of the points on this thread are valid.....I'm secretly ashamed by the unlevel playing field we've created by having so much money and I would openly slate any fans of a team doing the same.

But, hey, look how much everyone hates us.....a few years ago we weren't so despised which just goes to show that we are the biggest team at the moment. A few years ago everyone felt the same about United, and whilst that feeling lingers on, it's not as strong as it was.

Personally, I find supporting Premiership Champs quite anti-climatic. As a fan of a team with such a big squad of top class players, your expectations are constantly high. Also, you find games aren't so open as many teams (and I exclude Liverpool on Tuesday) will shut up shop and hope for a draw.

There's also the realisation that when (if) the bubble bursts, the majority of the nation will be delighted and we know our glory days are over (for the time being).

However, I do take exception to people accusing Chelsea fans of defecting there from Man United, etc although I have to admit, there seems to be a lot more Chelsea fans than there were when I was a kid at school having the piss taken out of me for the rubbish team I support. I'm proud to have supported Chelsea since I was knee high. A lot of the people (not any of you guys as far as I know) who make these comments support teams like Liverpool/Everton as they were so dominant in the 80s yet didn't inherit the support and have no connection with the area. My point is, there will always be glory hunters.

As for the racism/nationalism, etc - it's disgusting and there's no place for it in football. I hate seeing no surrender flags...however, for this to be attributed solely to Chelsea is hardly fair. In fact, over the years (and not just the last two years), Stamford Bridge has notably attracted fans from all walks of life. Being white perhaps I don't notice tension but I'd be surprised if Chelsea stood out from anywhere else.

All clubs attract idiot fans and I'd hate to be tarnished with that brush.

Rant over....I hope it was constructive.

I wasn't there, I think it was a midweek game in my school years......however, I clearly remember listening to it on Capital Gold.

Just read someone's post about gas chamber sounds. This is the sort of thing that I hate and I can't defend it. However, where I sit there's a few Jewish guys (who didn't know each other before being sat together at Stamford Bridge. I just hope we can focus on taking the mick out of Tottenham without having to resort to the lowest common demoninator.

I'd be interested to know, is it only Chelsea fans who do this at White Hart Lane? I know Mark Bosnich had a go once.

I like chelsea, good to see a team other then united and arsenal challanging for stuff. Jose is a funny swaurve motherfucker.

Im also pretty sure that if they hadn'tt paid well over the odds for glenn johnson that west ham would be royally fucked and not having half the palyers we do now.

dave

I am pleased that they have broken the Arse-ManUre duopoly, although I fear that it will simply be replaced by a Chelsea monopoly, at least as far as the Premiership title is concerned. Mourinho will get bored eventually and will seek a new challenge.

I don't like generalising about a club's fans, although I was once threatened by some halfwit at a Chelsea v Villa match. All I did was forget myself and jump up when a Staunton free-kick went into the net, while sitting amongst the home supporters. :o

On the other hand they got an absolute steal on what they paid us for Frank Lampard. Of course, that was pre abramovic.
