do you leave the white when you have a fried egg?

i only do that when i've had a big fry-up and there's too much on my plate and i want to make sure i get as much nice stuff in my belly as possible, and the white loses out because it's a bit boring.

but my mum, much as she loves fried egg yolk, cannot touch the white.

is this normal?

I'd rather leave the yellow. The yellow is the part that gives you a heart attack.

as a child, I was very reluctant to eat the whites of fried eggs for some reason - dunno why as they are in actuality quite bland - then again - this was the 70's and my pallette [sp?] was probably used to strong flavours. Anyway, I recall as clear as day the point at which I thought, 'I'll start eating egg white!' My mother was watching Corrie, and at this point, Eddie Yates was living with Hilda & Stan Ogden, and I remember him ripping into his breakfast with gusto and shovelling in the white of a fried egg - why this made me want to eat egg whites - I have NO idea! Always stuck with me though for some reason.

rubbish - it's much more likely to happen whilst running or having sex than eating an egg :p

(and it is crap IMO - the saturated fat in red meat is the thing that'll make a heart attack more likely, that and smoking - cholesterol hasn't even been proved to increase heart failure, though the margerine manufacturers would have you think differently, scientists have been divided on this for decades. As far as I'm concerned the main contributing factor seems to be being fat, stressed and unfit and eating too many trans fats-or fake fats - see studies done in India.).

Personally I can't see the point of eating an egg without the yoke - like eating a hotdog without the sausage, or a cheese sandwhich without the cheese.
