My much missed and beloved uncle (he was a grandad role to me)was what i would term 'an old fashioned tory' and had been all his life.........

He was certainly a lovely man, had made his own way in life, and was in no way a biogot, racist, homophobe etc etc.....

He respected other peoples views and was nothing like the type being portrayed here......

It's odd. Once the jews in gants hill were attacked by fash with chants of "i'd rather be a paki than a jew", and unless showing any sign of non-westernisation the asians were left alone "cos they hate the yids too".

These days it's the other way round for the boneheaded scum. I suspect this has everything to do with post 9/11 politics and nothing to do with coming to understand and appreciate our hebrew brothers and sisters.

No I don't think it is. Most of the greedy, selfish c-nts in the country may well *vote* Tory, but they are far too busy being greedy and self-interested to actually do anything as community minded as being an active member of a political party.


I particiapte in the blog 'conservative home' and while I might not agree with Tory party members who post there on very much, I don't think I would describe any of them as 'c-nts'. A lot of them are very concerned about the NHS, crime, the plight of many old people etc. and while I might not agree with many of their solutions, that is quite a different thing from being a 'c-nt'

I don't think there is anything wrong with a small government and self-reliance. I don't understand why big government appeals to people. I'm all for a good welfare system, but a big government.. no! Look at the state of the UK gov. It seems to grow year on year with more crappy laws, more departments managing every facit of life. The Tax and welfare system are a joke. They encourage people from all levels of society to cheat and act dishonestly.

You can find "cunts" on both sides of the political spectrum. As has been said, plenty of Leftists big up Cuba, Hamas, et al, and apply free speech to those they approve of. The USSR was never short of fellow travelers, either. Plenty of Rightists bigged up Pinochet, Baroness Thatcher, and wore "hang Mandella" badges.

More pertinent is whether you blindly follow dogma, or temper your ideals with humanity and pragmatism. I always try to do the latter.
