In general I don't like personalizing cars whether they be stupid stickers or weird dashboard tat. I have though been known to give cars names but only the ones I have personally chosen and got from new.

My naming policy is a name from the car's country of origin. My current car is Suki, previously I've had a Sonic and a Heidi. I don't do much research its more of whim.

I spend more time with my car than I usually do relatives or friends. If you drive enough different cars, you realize they all have their own "personalities." Why wouldn't you in that case?
