Do you explore your local area at lunchtime?

Gardening museum, South Bank, Westminster Abbey. St James's Park all within lunchtime walk. Oxo gallery I frequently visit.

The other building is a short walk from The National Gallery and St James's Park from the other side.

I used to do all these things with a colleague I fancied for years...and the odd afternoon in the Aquarium, Globe theatre etc. but now al I get is the odd e-mail, well actually not all that odd, qiute normal e-mails really, whereas I used to get odd e-mails from her all the time, though not nearly as odd as the e-mails I sent her. Not to mention the text messages. The afternoon in the aquarium was really odd as well and I'm sure we frightened the sharks and the squiggly things.

I started some training at Russel Square Monday and have explored some of Holborn and a little of the surrounding area.

Walking around is so nice a change from sitting all day long. Plus i've discovered a few nice places.

A shame it can't be too healthy with all the traffic. And the heat whilst wearing a backpack is pretty uncomfortable after an hours walk.

But its nice.

Shelton in Stoke is a bit of a void, as is Stoke town centre, but Hanley Park is nearby and the city centre's about a mile away :)

I sometimes stagger up the 108 steep stone steps between my office and the library, but less frequently since I was mugged outside the office door. I'm more likely to make a dash for my car and go home for dinner/knitting/putting washing on.
