No dining room and no dining table so no. There is a table in a kitchen but it's a bit cramped and the lighting is harsh so I don't really like eating in there. And we like watching the telly but there's no telly in the kitchen!

...

We got around this by putting a telly in the kitchen and bringing a lamp in to it. :o

Actually the telly only ended up in the kitchen by accident really, but then I realised I could cook/ wash up and still watch Eastenders. :o:o:o

If it's just the two of us we tend to eat on our laps in front of the TV. We do have a proper table and chairs in the kitchen but only use it when we have family over.

we have two dining tables, but one is in the spare room with the PC on it, and the other is in the kitchen covered in stuff mostly...

so we eat in the sitting room mostly, unless we have someone over, and we'll put the table in the living room

Typically, breakfast at the kitchen table (there's a small B&W TV that sits atop the fridge for the morning news programs). Dinner at the dining room table. Supper, either in the kitchen or in the living room (where the big TV is) on snack trays. No clutter on either table-- I'm OCD about level surfaces gathering junk.

We only have a small kitchen, so a breakfast bar is the nearest we have to a table. It does us fine, as the majority of time it's just the two of us.

Eat off my lap if I'm watching telly though.

I always eat my breakfast at the kitchen table. Very rarely do i eat other meals there, unless i want to read a book or the paper and need peace and quiet away from the telly.

We have a small side table by the sofa so normally have my dinner on that.

When i lived at home, eating meals anywhere but at the kitchen table was an absoulte sin. You were NEVER EVER allowed to eat meals on your lap whilst watching telly.

no:(

Haven't for a few years now unless I'm at home.

Haven't had a table in any of the houses I've lived in.

I miss tables though.

We're doing up the kitchen at the moment and we're going to do something about the lighting at least. It's too small for a lamp but we could get a dimmer switch. I'm not sure about a kitchen telly though. Nowhere to put one and it just seems rather too decadent somehow :D

We always sit at the table together as a family for all meals. Was in the dining room, now in kitchen due to extension. It's all my kids have ever known

Nope !

Only have one living room and the only table is now a desk !

No room for a table to sit round anyhoo !

yes, unless we have friends round to watch sporting events, in which case its a free for all in the front room :D

My table is my computer desk, so there's no room for two of us to eat - I have my tea on the sofa whilst watching Eastenders or Corrie.

Not when at home, unless I desperately need to stay at the computer. At uni I do all the time. But that's just sammages, so that doesn't count.

Try to, but since the 10 o'clock news is usually on by the time we have our tea, we end up eating off the coffee table in front of the telly as often as not.

my family always make a point of eating at the table

so do i if i have a table in my house. it is a lot more civilised

Almost nearly always. It's a good time to sit and relax and just catch up with each other. There'll be the very rare occasion when something is on TV, so we'll eat off laps, but that's possibly two or three times a year. I even eat at the table when I'm on my own. It just feels like the civilized thing to do, and I think it would have a huge impact on the quality of my life if we didn't have a table. Sometimes those catching up/how's your day been conversations are real life savers.
