I've always had long hair, apart from having a very short 1920's bob for a year. I chopped six inches off it 2 weeks ago and now it is shoulder length and I love it.

Mine does its own thing whatever I do to it, so I don't bother beyond the occasional cut. As a teenager I had it every colour under the sun, mohicanish, shaved - all sorts. In the 80s I had it long at the front/shaved at the neck, and since then it's just been a longer version of that, always longer at the front.

I'm trying the grey look at the mo

I like my hair short and easy to manage.. so the style pretty much stays the same.

Having said that, wouldn't mind growing it a bit.

Now colour, that's a different matter...!

I started my uni placement last week - my hair was pink. I went into the office today, it is blue. Got to almost four o'clock and one of the guys sidled up to me..

"Erm.. was your hair pink last week?"

"Yes it was!"

Exit one slightly embarrassed bloke who thought he was losing the plot... :D

I'd change my hair more often and get it dyed multiple colours if I could afford it. I get it cut short (somewhere between 1 inch and chin) and cope while it grows to several inches below shoulder. I treat inbetween differently by changing my parting or colour.

I'm naturally stubbornly straight flat and static. Mid brown but generally dyed black.

I've been bleached one inch, to UV braids, to below shoulder and purple. various fringes and layers, some cut by me. My sister used to cut my hair (she's not trained).

Since I was 11, I'm 26 now, I've been dying and cutting and growing my hair. More recently after a bright red phase I went back to my natural colour (most friends had never seen it!) and practically stopped wearing make up. I got bored within a year. I am now saving up for my next hair cut. So it's faded black and messy.

This thread needs pics. :)

Sweet baby jesus and the mary chain gang, I'm in the rags forum actually considering typing about my bloody hair... :hmm:

I'm finding it hard to answer the poll.

I do and I don't.

Thing is, I cut my own hair. Have done for the last 15 years. I can go for ages without cutting it, but then, like over the past few weeks, I go on a mad cutting spree, cutting it shorter and shorter every few days or weeks until I get a style and length I like.

I've finally gotten to the end of my most recent cutting spree and have ordered Mr Paw to hide all the scissors in the house, and the nail clippers, and the knives ... :D

It looks nice now though. It's layered and has flicky-outy bits.

I had short hair alot when younger but that's still only 2 styles....boooo

you could get away with a really short cut - your face would be a lovely framed with a curly cap i reckon.

jealous? me?

yep. :D

because i have a rather large and unsymetrical (see odd) face, i can't wear my hair short. my hair 'style' has been the same for years. curly/wavy just below the shoulders. boring boring boring. :(

My hair has only been trimmed for years.
I wasn't allowed various styles when I was still at home so went a bit crazy when I moved out. It's been quite a few colours but growing in length for years.

I always wanted long dark hair like (iirc) Crystal Gayle, and my main memory of my great granny is her having a long white pleat, which I decided was  when I was about 3 yrs old.

Nope. I almost always used to stick with the same haircut - standard cut, slightly spiked up at the fringe. Later I started to spike it up all over, especially as encroaching widows peaks made my fringe an increasingly sorry effort. I've still not forgiven my old hairdresser for saying a few years ago, 'I've just left your fringe a bit longer at the edges, there, just to cover up where it's thinning.' At 23 I was mortified to hear that. :o :D

Two years ago I bowed to the inevitable and bought some clippers: these days, the only variation in my hair is whether it looks freshly shaven down to a No.2 all over, or whether it's starting to look fluffy and needs shaving again.

I'd like blue hair again but I really can't be chuffed with dying it - plus it fucked my hair up each time I bleached it and left it like straw.

i've not enough left on top to do anything interesting with it, although i occasionally shave it all off.

i regularly fluctuate between beard/no beard though. i'm currently beardless (and wish i'd left it another month or two - my poor chin is freezing!)

I've had the same style since I was 16 (I'm 32 now). Though I'm not sure if counts as a hiar 'style' when it's pruned now and then by my GF and all the daily care it takes is running my hands through it for five seconds. But then, I have the same style of clothes as I when I was 16, too.

Anti-fashion fashion.:)
