Do I need a polling card to vote

Did you know she would be away for long? You can vote on other people's behalf but you have to let them know beforehand.
We didn't know in time. You have to tell them a good few weeks in advance.

Well the mainstream parties do sometimes use the threat of the BNP to try to motivate their core vote to bother turning out for the election, but even so Ive hardly ever let my vote go to waste, no matter how cynical I am about part politics.

After all, whilst the turnout falling to staggering new lows could trigger decent reform of our political system, its just as likely to lead to worse than what we've got now.

The Greens need to develop a better political platform before I'd vote for them to be in power.

Yeah I know what you mean but I cant see them developing their platform much more without getting some more candidates elected.

Anyway I was wrong about having a choice of 10 parties in the EU election, when I went to vote minutes ago there were 12!

Where did I say I'd put any faith in anything? Voting against the BNP is not of scant concern to Nick Griffin. He wants to be an MEP, and for that he needs a particular share of the votes. But I didn't say I had faith in anything. It is a purely pragmatic action.

Maybe "faith" is a little too strong. More a suggestion of holding onto a myth that "every vote counts". Every decent and thoughtful Anarchist would hold that every vote merely legitimises a system that is self-serving and corrupt.

I won't be attending a poll station today, preferring instead, to spend more time with my family.
