Do Civil Servants deserve working class solidarity?

Go and ask anyone on the street, in the ale house, in your workplace, in fact anyone beyond your little group of lefty mates, if they think the girl in the job centre is the same social/economic class as the head of the diplomatic service. It isn't valid because no one but a few marxists think it is...
saywha'? you feeling allright?
I'm arguing against them being in the same class, because that is EXACTLY what YOU are doing here, consistently throughout this thread: lumping ALL 'civil servants' in together indiscriminately, without stopping to consider the wisdom of this.
In short, you're doing what you suggest I am, I'm arguing against that. spooky! :D
now - how about telling me why that definition of class I earlierr gave is invalid?

I just did. They all said no

You're not making much sense here

he got me baffled with that 180-degree turn....

It's been an odd thread, tbh. Still, I'm sure that many thousands of civil servants are anxious to see if Soulman is going to give them his class solidarity. I can't begin to estimate how worthy an ally for any worker he must be :D

I feeling good, ta for asking :D

Now I reckon you've got yourself in a right muddle. I'm not arguing all civil servants are working class. That's a marxist argument, the one you started off supporting, and still seem to be asking why it's not valid. You're chasing your own tail for some reason.

You feeling alright?

I very strongly suggest you read the thread again.
what you are doing is lumping to gether all 'civil servants' as one indiscriminate grouping, regardless of rank, power, without differentiating between different types, and withjout even defining what a 'civil servant is - the nearest you come to THAT is here;
So called civil servants are just that, servants of the state, servants who oversee and administer the state.
which categorically puts em all in one sack marked 'enemy', so you are at the very least implying they are antithetical to the cause of w/c class solidarity...and are therefore part of The Enemy.
and if you don't thin k you've done that, you're either hallucinating, reading a different thread to everyone else, or trolling.

If you mean is every civil servant working class, then no I don't think that's the case. Do you?
in the context of the thread as a whole, that means 4/5s of 5/8s of fuck all, I'm afraid

who said you were, and what relevance is that?
That's a marxist argument, the one you started off supporting,
no it isn't, and no I didn't, because I know that some FDA members are very much part of the collective ownership of the means of etc...which is why I would never, ever argue that
and still seem to be asking why it's not valid.
err, no I'm not, you've simply misread me.

You're chasing your own tail for some reason.
no, I'm not, just baffled by the side road you appear to have gone down

just in case ylou haven't noticed, over the past 30 years there's been f-all show of w/c class solidarity from most parts of the working class.
and you'd make a truly pisspoor marxist...ol' karl's 'gateway exam' was whether you sell your labour or not, and whether you have some ownership of the means of production, distribution and exchange.
by that yardstick, every civil servant below the open structure is working class

It was you who introduced this. Then you asked me to disprove it. Then you said it was my argument, but that I should still disprove it to you. Have a lie down Jezza, in a darkened room...

you really are incapable of either logic, or reading your own thread, aren't you?:D
