Speaking of which have you heard how utterly shite Matrix and Futurebound have got? As I'm sure you can remember Matrix was one of the legends. And now...

Clownstep? (as the deriders used to call it lol)

I wonder if the drum n bass/ trap crossover stuff that Perez is doing has got its own name yet?

What about 'experimental' - like the stuff that Krust used to do 'soul in motion', 'maintain', 'coded language' etc, dunno what that'd be called

And what would you call the square pusher, apex twin, ninja tune crazy chopped up break stuff?

    good shouts

the squarepusher stuff tends to be called IDM, but it doesnt really capture that fucked up drumprogramming

    Why no Dubstep on there?

And was Amen a style or just the name of the break?

you know what though, i think a hat tip to the likes of DJ Vibes and Dougal is allowed - 1994 stuff kind of counts and they did make some tunes in their time

amen is now a style but its a tricky one to give a year to... amen as a style came much later than amen tunes :hmm: have to stick it a little after drumfunk i guess??

dubstep is a cousin i reckon...

Dubstep originates from 2-step/dark garage primarily (although its all related, after all, 2-step/speed/dark garage are decendents of jungle).

I'm terrible at this. :D I just wanted to mention Amen and sound clever. Then messed it up by thinking I was stating the obvious.
