Well, thats what it was like the second to last time I went.... erm... which was jan 2006... have mass stopped doing pints now... they seemed to be doing 'em last may... (which was the last time I went... DMZ just seems to horribly clash with stuff)

guess i must be the first back, it was reverential, a must for all bass worshipers. There's a zillion tingz i don't like about MASS but somehow the place was made for DMZ, dunno if i was dreaming but i think i heard this really mad set by El-B in the 2nd room, no El-B=no dubstep, alot of that proto-grime, dark garage is such as mean stuff.
The crowd were really into it, makes me laf, 18mths ago in 3rd base it was pretty sparse?

DMZ was great, the music was fantastic but I do have a problem with the number of rewinds and the way they are done. Every other fucking track gets played again, the MC whips up the crowd into making some noise to get it played again. Frankly the MC can make the crowd do that the the Smurf theme so if they want to play the track twice they should have the courage of their fucking convictions and stick a second copy on the second deck instead of screwing up the flow of the music the whole time.
That was a bit of a rant but frankly it was a fairly minor irritation and I had a ball.
Afterwards I when the the tail end of a Malfaitures party in Hackney Wick - had a fantastic time there as well. Fucking excellent weekend.
