skyscraper... HELP!!!

it's not even mentioned in the manual

Yes it is:

13. CUE PAN CONTROL -
[FONT=Helvetica Neue,Helvetica Neue][FONT=Helvetica Neue,Helvetica Neue]This function allows you to monitor the Cue level as well as the Program (main output) level in your headphones. When you turn the CUE PAN knob to the full left position, you will only hear the headphone signal that is playing. When the CUE PAN knob is turned to the center position you will hear both the headphone signal and the main output.

which doesn't tell you how to select the HEADPHONE signal that is playing, just how to switch from that signal to the master signal.

Dumbass

Sorry....I'm here (was on the phone)

Right, you can pan betwen each channel by using the cue pan (I think) - I don't have it in front of me to check. One of those channels has to be the main output though. This is mainly useful though if you are using the integrated mixer (otherwise I'd always use the headphone out of an auxiliary mixer):

From the manual:

Hope thats some help. Those cue vol/cue pan knobs are a bit teeny but it does work. Although personally I'd still prefer to line each channel into a mixer and monitor the sound through that.

Also, the default settings on mine were not set to 'Mixed Output' so I was only getting one side for ages when I was just trying to play with the inbuilt mixer.

i'm still confused. unless it means that if you're playing channel A, that will appear at the right (output) of the cue pan, which means channel B will then automatically appear at the left.

But i've never seen a unit - even a really basic mixer like this one - that doesn't have a headphone channel select?

Ermm.. ok yeah I see what you're getting at.

Yeah it's not ideal but its workable. I would prefer a channel select but they're clearly trying to put a lot of stuff into a small space and figure most people will be okay to pan between mixer output and not mixer output (iyswim). The mixer is the biggest compromising factor. Hence why I'd still be hoping to take this to places where I can plug each channel into a decent mixer seperately.

Virtual DJ is much better IMHO
