Dizzee's back to school..

would like to hear this boy in da corner was a huge album.

some raw beats on that.

can't beat old dizzee spitting over grime though. slimzee with wiley and dizzee b2b, always guaranteed murder

The production on this one has moved on by light-years. I like the way he flit's in and out of characters, the beats do it for me big time, the shy fx and t-power tune is proper

i'm loving it innit:D

With him and SOV, UK has truly taken the batton from the US (well fuck me, Lewis Parker was never going to do it )
I haven't heard Dizzee's new one, but isn't this a bit of a silly statement? I appreciate the patriotism and the distain for the violence some people have for US rap, but the UK scene is too niche-y in my opinion to compare fairly.

you know lady sov sold like 7000 recoreds in her first week yeah??? She flopped hard.

sway is the one who is likely to do anything commercially but me thinks they all have a bit to go before any american acts get even vaguely worried.

taking the batton my arse.

Fuck it klash, professor green and sway all have a much better chance of getting us rap fans attention then sov or dizzie, who i reckon is one of those rappers that people like when they don't like rap. See his album standing alonf isde many collections next to beatie boys, cypruss hill, and jurrassic 5 rather then an album that every hip hop fan loves(like say ilmatic, the chronic etc)

cor blimey, howdayguess that one then Sherlock? can i just add, what a load of bollocks you're chatting. if you want a big willy waving competition about 'who da daddy at knowing about rap', i suggest you start your own thread about it.

otherwise, why not hold your tongue ya lickle hip-hop bad bwoy?....i listen to music cos i like it, innit

'every hip hop fan....' what it must be to be so authoritative.... i wish i was as much of a fan as you *swoons* :)

Listening to a Dizzee / DJ Slimzee CD from 2002 today and was completely blown away. His delivery is very spare and sharp, on early versions of his own productions and loads of tough 2-step. Some of this is like what Burial is harking back to (but rarely lives up to imo, and most of dubstep just exaggerates the most boring aspects).

Does anyone have the mp3 of that radio set he did in the US South? I would be interested :)

merely pointing out that dizzie seems to be everyones favorite rapper with those who don't like rap. Much like blagsta was complaining about the prodigy in a thread the other day. Or people were complainign about the streets recently or how people complain abou travis or whoever.

And find me a hip hop fan who doesn't rate ilmatic or the chronic and ill call them wrong.
