Dizzee Rascal Arrested

fair point, probably. it's still gross that the damage to this photographer's camera is the lead on this story though
Up to a point - but the original story was on a photography-focused website, not a general news site.

Not excusing it, but the photographer was pretty in his face. He could have got another shot if he'd been standing at the bottom of those steps rather than waiting on the corner for him. Maybe it was just unfortunate timing, or maybe he was hoping for a close up bit of rage.

Just paps who stick their cameras in people’s faces when they’re walking down the street.
Anyone who does shit like that needs their equipment smashing to deter them from doing it again.
While I'd agree that most paps are distinctively unsavoury types, this notion that they 'deserve' to have their equipment smashed to bits by rich celebrities is frankly ridiculous. The guy in this case was just taking photos of a convicted criminal as he left the court and I'd say it's doubtful that he was a pap photographer anyway.

And you do understand the symbiotic relationship between many celebs and the paparazzi, yes?

They ‘deserve’ to make a living doing something else then, rather than hanging round courts taking photos of people at their worst and lowest moments.
It’s not just celebrities who get this shit. If you came up to me in the street walking backwards and taking photos without asking and without even speaking to me, I’d probably react in a regrettable manner and you’d have a camera in many pieces

You might not like it, but it is a function of open justice that the community may know the names and faces of those convicted of crimes in that community, unless specific measures are in place.

You've got weird macho anger issues, mate. The photographer just took a picture of Dizzy as he walked past. He didn't stand in his way or move an inch from his spot.

And why you think anyone would want to come up to you in the street "walking backwards and taking photos without asking and without even speaking" is quite beyond me. But if you want to fantasise about smashing up some guy's expensive work gear, fill your boots, tough guy.
Why are we talking about the photographer and not the guy who assaulted his ex?

Looks like some people are only interested in smashing up photographer's gear. But in a way it's kind of good that it happened because it's managed to draw a load more attention to the assault on the poor woman. In fact, it's a great example of the Streisand effect.

I fucking pointed it out in my OP, which you overlooked to project some made up shit about macho fantasy.
Have a word

Judgement:
Grime artist Dizzee Rascal has been handed a one-year restraining order and a 24-week curfew for assaulting his former fiancee.
The rapper, whose real name is Dylan Kwabena Mills, had denied assault by beating.
But the 37-year-old, of Sevenoaks, Kent, was found guilty of attacking Cassandra Jones in Streatham, south London, in June 2021.
In last month's trial the judge said he had been "abusive and aggressive".

I wonder if the photographer is going to sue him? I hope so.

Fucking hell. Is it any wonder these men still beat and kill women whenever they feel like it. Slap on the wrist.
Did you see the guy in Glasgow who got fined a grand this week for beating his 17 year old girlfriend until she was unconscious when she told him she wanted to break up with him?

We are men’s possessions

That is absolutely fucking disgusting. Look what the cowardly piece of shit did to her:
