Sounds like it wasn't a great performance from us today but an away win is always a result.
Deadline day come and gone and we've not sold Doidge. Great news.
We have sold Ollie Norburn, which is a bit of a shame, but never mind.
Macclesfield v Grimsby delayed, due to a goose on the pitch
Saw that, quality!
Frustrating afternoon home to Oldham, ahead early but then their keeper made some decent saves and the one goal lead fell to a pen. Got the ball in the net again but disallowed. Suppose it's a testament to progress that ex-Prem Oldham came for a point.
First home game and a 4-1 win. If last week was pretty dodgy this was a massive improvement. Great start.
Sign him up sign him up sign him up...
Norwood now has 3 goals in 2 games and could have had at least another 3. I thought that losing Cooke was going to hamper our scoring but not the case and the new signings are slotting in really well and creating great passing opportunities. Good to have a home win in the league but disappointed that there were only @100 Cheltenham fans who made the effort to support their team.
It's all a bit doom and gloom at our northern neighbours, they flogged their very good striker Mo Eisa to Gary Johnson's son's team (keep it in the family!) and don't seem to have planned properly for a replacement so there's a fair bit of discontent.
Won our first league cup game ever by being pretty shit but cunningly choosing a Swindon side as opponents who didn't want to score.
4-0 away win at Port Vale in the League Cup.
Starting to feel a little confident - so probably getting a thumping at Grimsby on Saturday.
Not a thumping but sounds like we were a bit lucky to escape with a draw. On the upside that's four points scraped from two dodgy performances now, and big wins in the other two games. With new players still settling in that's a good start.
Still unbeaten! Took a slightly undeserved lead at Bury then were slightly unlucky to be pegged back late after Gunning got sent off. Second yellow was right but first in first minute very soft.
Dragged out to eat and got plied with horrible rice liquor so too pissed to get up in the wee hours and listen to our game home to Stevenage. By all accounts Boro came for the point and we did well but didn't break them down. So still unbeaten, what a contrast to last year to be ruing being almost very good rather than wondering where the next point will come from.
1-0 win at home against Port Vale with Norwood scoring again. Should have been more but none of our players seemed to want to provide the final touch. Nice to finally see a decent number of away supporters rather than the usual hundred or so in the away end.
Another draw where we played pretty well but couldn't see it out after leading. Four in a row is too many even if we stay unbeaten.
Sackings have started, Johnson at Cheltenham probably no surprise but Nolan at Notts would have expected to be given a bit longer you'd have thought. Course we play them next for their dead cat bounce
Notts have been absolute garbage so far and given the money invested in the squad, coupled with a poor end to last season, I'm not surprised.
Well, sold our best striker very last thing on deadline day. Says a bit about our progress that I don't think we'll be completely lost without him; would have definitely been down last season without though. Now we'll see who's more shaken up, us or Notts.
Well, absent Doidge managed a win against a Notts side clearly struggling. helped by a send off when we were one up but not by being denied a blatant pen. Lincoln won the tie of the day against Exeter to consolidate at the top.
Grimsby having a frankly poor start to the season. A few loanees coming in but nothing seeming to make much of a difference.
Our main striker, Hooper, is exhibiting the same lack of goal-sense that brought us into a relegation battle last season. I suspect we’ll be repeating that battle later this season unless something radical changes.
Thought opinion was performances been mostly OK bar vs us and today?
There have been some good parts, but one win and two draws (both from being ahead) from 6 matches isn’t good. The win was against one of the 4 teams below us in the league. 3 red cards not great either.
Plenty of time yet but I can see the fans starting to get impatient after so much optimism.
On the plus side there's a few basket cases showing already so mid-table for both of us I reckon
Well this is all going very well...can't help but expect it to fall apart somehow though.
Yeah the general view of our game v Grimsby was that we were well outplayed and lucky to nick a point. I don't think they're a bad team.
Read you've been winning when not playing too well which is a good sign, though sounds like performance yesterday was top notch too.
Draw specialists. Took a lead against vale and were having the best of possession but as usual not really doing enough with it. Vale improved second half, then Ricky Miller came on and went down for a pen, bit soft but we asked for it. Then down to ten men after rawson (offender for the pen) went in two footed. League position certainly what my best hopes would have been at start of season but actually we're a few points behind where we ought to be with a good squad who look like they can carry on without Doidge. So happy but not.
4-0 defeat by an average Bury.
Yet another formation with players out of position.
Hoping some of the new faces and longtime injuries will soon be fit enough to turn things round.
Away to MK, clash of the two best-liked teams in the division Both unbeaten and we're becoming draw specialists but think we'll end up losing this one. Tisdale seems to have hit the ground running.
