Dispathes Undercover Mosque

is nobody going tom comment on the way that each and every piece being siad by the speakers at green lanes was heavily edited together to make it appear that the extreme comments were said after each other whereas it appears they were in fact edited together out of a larger context piece...

i mean it wasn't even terribly well edited the skips and jumps were plain to see...

I'd like to have seen those comments in their entirity rather than the (potentially) selectively edited piece we were exposed to...

Spion: Not aware that Ninjaboy thinks it's okay to marry a prepubescent girl or detonate himself on a Number 11 bus.

thefishdead: There was an anti-terrorism march organised by Muslims in Slough last year sometime. Sufis and other moderate Muslims are certainly not obliged to take the Wahabbists to task - they're not responsible for them - but it would be good to see such things happen. Progressives should support them if/when they do so.

What struck me most was what a bunch of fucking muppets the Labour minister and the coppers speaking at muslim gatherings were. If these clowns are our representatives there's no wonder they don't want to engage with us.

Not responsable of course, but if a group was spining your beliefs for such violent ends wouldent you want to tell them to go fuck themselves.
Even leaving public perception aside.

It's very easy to get wound up by programmes like this, but I think most people are intelligent enough to realise that the views expressed by some of those mullahs are not held by the majority of UK muslims.

I would hope that what you say is true but in some areas ie Dagenham people openly talk with glee about a future where they could kill muslims and expell them from the UK. Its not an attitude that it challenged by many there I'm afraid.

that's a pretty strong statement without any evidence

Over heard it in a bnp pub. :(

Wasn't safe for me to challenge it.

I've never lived in an area where anti muslim sentiment has been so common. The bnp has been ramping this up by distributing leaflets of the aftermath of the bus bomb and saying that we really don't need these muslims here.

You hear anti muslim (and anti asylum seeker ) comments all over the place there. In pubs shops cafes on buses you name it there is hardly any where there where people don't feel they can denounce muslims in particular.

BTW the words about gleefully wanting a race war are an exact quote.

I've also heard convos about how the UK should do to the muslims what Hitler did to the Jews.

I'm so glad to be fucking leaving that area I really am.

When you see how far the bnp have penetrated it is frightening.

Respect have not made the situation any better for the left by constantly trumpeting about islamophobia this and islamophobia that. All that has happened is the bnp is painting Respect as 'that p**i party'.

from my (very limited) experience of nazi people it's exactly the same as how i imagine the islam extremists, one or two headcases making a big fuss and relishing the shit they cause and damage they are doing to relations between normal people within their communities

Like Noncefront, but with Saudi oil money behind them. And politicians and senior old bill sucking up to them.

Fair enough but thats not exactly mainstream opinion is it. The fucking bnp

There aint many pubs in my part of Dag that don't have bnp members in.

I'm afraid that they are the mainstream in quite a few wards.

Are there really extremists in religion? *shock horror*

Bit tiresome and a rehash of countless 'enemy in our midst' crap thats been churned out for several years by current affair expose type programmes.

I was as 'shocked' by the views in this programme as I was by the BBCs Secret Police programme on the BNP.

Been thinking that all along, didn't like this programme because it seemed to be about whipping up something. It was idiotic in places with the whole "and they hate democracy" lines, real us and them type stuff. Would be interesting to see the raw unedited footage. Actually scratch that, it would be nice to see Channel 4 cover something other than Islam/Muslims for a fucking change.

There's afar too much media attention given to these clowns. But then they make a good scary story don't they, with their funny clothes and foreign beliefs.

personally i think it's counter-productive to put the media exploiting these muslim extremists as anything to do with xenophobia/racism. people of all skin tones and origins are demonised and explaining this in terms of racism is overly simplistic and dangerous

a lot of people who claim to be on the left will use that sort of 'funny accents' shite to justify their own equally abhorrent prejudices against the white working class

Completely agree

And from what I know of Wahhabism it is not respected by most Muslims - it is a sect within the religion which gained power and credence to its links and legitimation of the Saudi Royal Family....an entity that even the Taleban/Al Q'aeda find abhorrent.

To be honest with half the stuff they said you could have interpolated it in photos of them kissing babies and helping old ladies across the road and they'd still have come off as fundy fucking psychos.

Although I saw their point to a certain extent about integration. If I was them I wouldn't want to integrate into british society either, 'cos it's shit.

It cannot be stressed strongly enough that wahabbism is not Islam and much more effort needs to be put into stating this especially by ordinary Muslims.

The problem is that a lot of muslim countires are afflicted by despots and with out the secular alternative of communism peoples hopes for ridding themselves of said despots appear to rest on the wahabbis.

More fool them (and you, for that matter) to choosing to live in that society then.

Then why do those nutcases live here or put in those flying visits from their Saudi universities? Can't be all bad news for them.

True, I'm not referring to people born here. But some of them did seem to be shitstirrers of the globetrotting variety. One had an American accent, another sounded like an Australian - though my favourite specimen was the man from Essex with the adenoidal 'call me Brian' trainspotter voice. You've already been integrated, chum, just start watching trains instead of urging others to blow them up.

Wahabbists

have saudi money behind them so they can print up there nice big shiny korans and teaching aids and give them away free so making everybodys life that just a bit more miserable (think the jewish extremists or american fundys ) at least the other twos posions limited as they don't want to talk to mud people
