what's "italo disco"?

i asked what "cosmic" was (in a disco context)

'Cosmic' disco is quite psychdelic sounding disco stuff, often with lots of electronics and a bit less funk than 'normal' disco. There's a few compilations about that have been released recently, like the two Cosmic Dancer LPs.

And never feel embarrassed about not knowing something, especially about little known types of music from 20 or 30 years ago.

BTW, what's "italo disco"? it's been mentioned a lot of places, but i have no idea what it is...

...is it disco with italian lyrics (duh), or something else (like a whole genre with a specific/pre-determined sound)?

Italo disco is amazing. there's lots of comps u can get on ebay on ZYX records where are as good a place to start as any.

But for disco i'd advise getting a 'best of...' salsoul records or Prelude records if there is such a thing (which there must be).
