Dig deep, and find your 3 positives from the General Election 2019.

My constituency has been disinfected of the virus named Chris Leslie and we now have the UK's youngest MP, Nadia Whittome, who seems very promising and is a genuine homegrown working class activist not some fucking PPE type.
happy for you :-) , we still have Paul Beresford for the billionth time , however I can sleep at night knowing it didnt get my vote

I like your "optimism" but I cant see it happening. At least, not in my lifetime.

Stranger things have happened. The one thing we can be certain about is that the old certainties are being swept away.

Have to be optimistic about something!!!

Nothing wrong with being optimistic. Realistically, in order to actually work and have people live peacefully together, it will take at least 2 more generations. Reason being that it would take a major shift in the mindset of unionists and indeed nationalists. So let's see how it goes when they do start to work together again and start to run NI properly.

A united Ireland will happen peacefully when the possibility of triumphalism in one group of the community is abhorrent to that community. It will happen when reunification is acceptable to all people in NI and Ireland. When every person in NI thinks and believes it is the best future.
That will take at least 2 more generations. Real trust between both communities in NI and a move toward self determinism in NI will have to happen first. When people start to forget their differences and only see their potential, then it will happen.

Isn't she giving away a large slice of her salary?

This may have already been posted, and if so I can only apologise (i haven't had time to read the whole thread).
I can think of one HUGE positive: the Tories have to own Brexit. All of it. So sooner or later they will run slap bang into the choice they lied about never having to make: whether to give way on every negotiating point with the EU, or causing a prolonged and severe recession.

Good point. They said it was going to be better. Now they have to demonstrate it is.
