There is more than a little bit of a "wildgrow" yes, and as historian I have - of course - more than just a bit of reservations on any genealogy going back that far.

Not necessarily. No Muslim is better than any other just because of birth. While I chose Islam as my first academic subject, it felt as having "enhanced responsibility" and made the subject by times exeedingly fascinating, it was not the reason of my choice.
