die mosquito larvae

Citronella candles work as deterrents.

Traditional tricks here in Spain are to use Limon Tomillo (Lemon Thyme) grown in window boxes, or Lemon Eucalyptus trees in the garden.

Something about the lemon like scent used in the candles and naturally produced by the plants that keeps mosquitoes away. Smells like lemon to us, obviously doesn't to them. Never make the mistake of using an actual lemon as a deterrent - mosquitoes love real lemon.

The more fruit and sugar I consume, the more bites I tend to get.

Ta, i've moved lemon geraniums to the windows i keep open so the entrances and exits are covered. Will keep the chemical warfare as backup if they get through that.

I'm glad you're got it sorted out. :)

You should be grateful that you don't live in Winnipeg. The mosquitos are so bad that they drive trucks around and spread a chemical fog around to try to kill the mosquitos. It's really bad now, but soon the ones that carry west nile disease will be hatching. People die from that every year.

Here's the city's community service page. It's full of information on controling some of the pests that the city has to endure. There is some information on there that you might find useful.

Remember, there is always someone worse off than you. Sometimes, you have to cross half way around the world, but......
