Die McKeith! Die! in pain!

Has anyone who has been filmed for GMcK not been extremely happy with the outcome? It really surprises me that no-one seems to care about the actual results, although this is urban75. It seems that to defend GMcK in any way is tantamount to apologising for the third reich around here! Oh well, a challenging assignment... ;)

It's her bullying tactics to which I object. That and the patent disrespect for food she displays on her show. The way they load a table with food and then throw it on the floor, or otherwise waste it and disrespect it seems scandalous to me. This is not the way to teach people how to love food.

That aside, it's the awful hectoring bullying, the foul attitude that I detest so much.
I'm sure such tactics wouldn't be necessary for you or children but for adults who have lifelong crappy eating habits to break - perhaps shock tactics are necessary. The thing about really healthy eating - for someone that has lived off junk food is that it is going to taste like poo for the first month. You just aren't going to get them to change without heavy artillery! IMO she does bloody well getting them to eat their alfafa sprouts and mung beans. How many of us put them away regularly?

oh fuck off. as if she'd show the failures anyway.

i've no idea what her 'hit rate' is, but the people who go on her show are wanting to change anyway, so most of the work is done already.

she's a nasty shit. and she hates fat arses, so fuck her.

Well that doesn't change the fact that the hits which are shown - the one's I've seen, anyway - far surpass those on other transformation shows. And they presumably have the option of discarding the crappy ones. Her victims not only lose sackfuls of weight but look noticeably healthier not simply from weight loss.

Somehow I think the change that happens might actually be down to the her diet regime rather than the 'placebo' effect.

Jazzz - if you think she has any validity whatsoever as a medical practitioner then that proves to me without a doubt she has no fucking clue what she is doing.

Guess what pk... it's not rocket science. You put good stuff in, keep bad stuff out, and maybe give the gunk a good clear out.

You should try having the tube up your arse sometime! :p

of course they have. but they don't show the ones where it didn't work. it's not as if she's got some cutting edge documentary team following her round is it?

prospective subjects will very heavily screened in the first place to ensure they're receptive before they even get the chance of being involved... and i bet theres still loads on the cutting room floor.

Don't forget an expert lighting cameraman and make up team for the "wow she looks amazing!" shots at the end.

<killer B>

... if that's true, how is it different to any other transformation programme?

This reminds me of the "at least Mussolini made the trains run on time" defence of fascism. I'd eat my own toenail clippings if it made this hideous harpy leave me the fuck alone

tbh, i'm sure plenty of people do lose weight - being humiliated in front of an audience of millions is a pretty big incentive, after all. but beyond that she isn't telling people anything useful that you or i couldn't.

and then she sells her diet books & food on the back of it... nice work if you can get it, eh?

... if that's true, how is it different to any other transformation programme?
it isn't. i shit 'em all. but her approach is much more negative and insidious than some. plus the rampant quackery, of course - you don't see gok wan making any nonsensical, unscientific claims about any of his methods do you?

Apart from the already mentioned point - that she will only show positives - the issue is at what point the results were announced. With the mixture of the placebo effect and having your failings dragged through national TV, pretty much anyone would get religious for a while and stick with the programme. But do they go back 12 months or 2 years later - No!

Pretty much any diet works in the short term driven along as you are with the psychobabble, quick initial success and enthusiasm. They don't work in the long run though.

Do you really think that hectoring, humiliating and shouting is the best way to change human behaviour? Do you respond well to such an approach?

She must be the only person in the world that if there were justice on this earth would contract colon cancer.

It would indeed be interesting to have a follow-up. The impression I've had is that the people on the programme will have changed their eating habits for good

Yes, if I felt there was an area where I was terribly slack I'd happily have a boot-camp style instructor. How do professional athletes get the best out of themselves? Armies? You have people cracking the whip! If the person on the other end is willing, it's not so evil.

Be aware that Mckeith will use a team of proper doctors (I presume they at least know more than her) behind the scenes, for legal reasons if nothing else. She's just a popular mouthpiece that fat mums have latched on to to get them off the crisps.

I never heard of her, so I had to look her up.

I wouldn't want this person looking at my stool.

Of course you have - that's the impression they want to leave you with.

Have you ever been to a slimming club?

get off my tele you fucking harridan with you basingstoke backsides (some off which looked fine as they were)

You fucking shitehawk of a 'doctor'

DIE DIE DIE DIE:mad:
That woman is a fucking joke, I watched the programme the other night and alot of the women had normal sized bums.
If she came up and started on mine I'd smack her one.

Well maybe, but she also advocates juicing and colonic hydrotherapy, both of which I've found to be highly beneficial. I'm pleased that those get aired McKeith or whoever.

The thing that enrages me most about quacks like McKeith is that behind all the utter, utter nonsense they talk, all they're actually doing is giving a lot of simple, common sense advice, really obvious shit like "If you eat junk food all the time and don't eat much veg, you'll end up with a massive arse". Why anybody shells out cash for books that tell them these things, I don't know.

She's obsessed with arses and shit. I bet her dvd collection is filled with scat films. She derives no sexual pleasure from these films, but loves to sit there and divine the actor's well-being through the medium of shit.

So exactly what are the medical benefits to either of those? Do you have the slightest clue what you're talking about?

I haven't, weight loss isn't much of an issue for me. I've made fairly big changes to my eating and drinking habits though. Last was completely giving up all added sugar in anything - and very glad I did too. Everyone should do that.
